Has anyone ever had a moment when you find something out about yourself you wasnt aware wasnt the norm. For instance there is people out there that have no inner monologue and most arent aware that it's not normal as its how they've always been.
It happened to me yesterday when I discovered that I have aphantasia. It basically means that i cant make images in my head, if i look at an object and then close my eyes, i cant visualise the object. When I try to imagine things i basically just describe then in words in my head |

"Another one that always makes me laugh is whether you're a sit down or stand up wiper. Half the people arent aware the others exist and it devolves into arguments every time"
Sit down, anything else is just wrong. End of discussion! |

There an opposite version called hyperphantasia where people can really clearly visualise things. The only thing that bothers me was when I read about someone else that has it and they said the saddest part for then is their parents died and they cant picture their faces |

I can't visualise at all. Even when doing guided meditation I can't do it at all.

Ya, it's basically said that your third eye is blind/shut. So can you not picture things in your head at all? Like if you close your eyes and try to picture a sunset, what happens? |

More blackness. Nothing happens apart from I lay there trying to picture it but get sweet fuck all. Like I know what it looks like, I can draw one, but can I imagine one in my head with colours and stuff? Can I fuck

Oh, and that describing in words thing. I do that too. Can't see the words either, just hear them. It's quite bloosy frustrating. It's like if I was telling someone what it looked like or what I wanted to see, what I have seen with my fucking eyes open

It's also an explanation as to why I cant remember childhood holidays and it always winds my family up. I've basically tried explaining to them that I'm aware that things happened but I cant like remember them as such because I cant picture them |
