I wish to purchase some old photographs from USA via Ebay. Does anybody know if I will have to pay a UK Customs charge or VAT to bring the goods into the UK. They are for my personal collection and not for resale and will cost about £1000 as they are very old |

If on the shipping value for insurance it’s values over £100 or £50 I can’t remember...you have to pay import duity.uless the seller can mark the value down it can save you a bit but then it’s not insured for the correct amount..if that makes sense.
Or you can try to ask em to mark the package up as a gift but I don’t think that works anymore.., |
