The world is shit. Kids are scared. If a McDonald's will give them a moment of happiness I'd queue for 12 hours to give them that feeling.

Good way to fill your days I guess, queue for tesco first thing, quick few hours waiting for the tip, kill an hour or two for mcd's before finishing off with a snake around Ikeas carpark, or line up to watch the sun go down at your local beauty spot. Queuing is the future.

Can someone please explain , why waiting in line for McDonald’s is looked down upon in the UK?

People in the USA have to wait in line to get into any store to buy anything...,.

So why is McDonald’s any different?

it think this is more of the truth than people wanting the food.. or needing to go to ikea. I hate queues. So only do so when I have to. But when kfc opened it was a 50mile round trip... an hour and a half wait but the smiles on kids faces was worth it.

2 of mine have only left the house a handful of times during lockdown due to anxiety. So it was a treat.

My lad went and got mcdonalds today. Although I didn't have anything .

Again I think the point is subverted

No one is suggesting helping kids smile is not utterly amazing I'm behind this project 100 percent

I think it's the methods suggested

I'm disheartened that a mc i

Ds is so lusted for

Surely it should be an adventure a skill an achievement or something unbelievably tasty mum dad has made

Sub consciously helping kids to think inferior food is a treat is SERIOUSLY short changing them on real pleasure and smiles

For a start the food only has a short term high then leaving a depressed state

Erm treat ?

The whole view that mc ds is a treat is a twisted reality that need not be played out

For fucks sake seriously

Mum dads burger should ALWAYS trump a mc ds ?????

Oh I'm so sorry you two

I thought the forums a place for conversation and debate

I articulate that a huge multi national firm designed poor quality food and chemicals with near narcotic properties and that the huge queues are demonstrating this fact

I'm quite happy to signal my virtue and consideration on what food could or should be available for consuming by children

I also signal my virtue that I dont think the humans addictefvto the concoction are stupid

I do feel the subject is good for debate how we or governments deem products or chemicals harmful drugs or innocent pleasure foods

My virtue finds the perspectives people hold as interesting

Sorry for having virtue

"Looking down on it seems like some sort of weird virtue signalling to me.

Congratulations you don't eat McDonald's?

you crack me up.

This is so true.

A lot of people have a lot of time on their hands at the moment - syanding in that queue was probably better than sitting home alone for some.

Sorry for having virtue "

Is that a virtual virtue or a real one

"Can't believe that people are that desperate for a McDonald's!!

There aren't, They just want something that symbols a bit of normality..

A working day is normality."

Yes and staff at McDonald's now have that normality.

Absolutely ridiculous and total rubbish.

So to justify cramming all the crap in a big Mac down Their throats is because it's normality?

I think greed is the real pandemic!

Wow! Its only a burger. "

Well clearly not judging by the queues and how strongly people are defending the consumption of them.

Exactly

It is way way way beyond "only a burger"

It's a master class in human manipulation for profit

I sympathize with all of the arguments here.

But if you really want it, just wait a few days for it all to blow over and then drive right up if that's your poison (please don't overthink the last word).

I'm not defending the consumption of it but I'm also not going to condemn anybody that does have it.

I haven't read thd whole thread I was replied to a comment that I thought was funny.

I personally couldn't give a fuck about what other people choose do do or eat.

I won't be standing in a queue for a Mc Donald's- but if that is what others choose to do why should we judge them?

I think Mc Donald's should be 'Fast ' food - standing in a mile long queue defeats the whole point surely

Outskirts of Cardiff just off the M4

Each to their own, we all have choices to make in life and yes, it may not be of the highest nutritional value. However, if it brings happiness to a child that has been thrown into this situation, well so be it. Who are we to pass judgement if we don’t have all the facts. Everything in moderation...
