I like something different, unexpected and thoughtful...
Not bottles of whisky/ after shave etc.
It is a very personal thing, some may like a bottle of scotch etc..
My favourite was a ticket to the British Open (golf) a few years back.

My dad is in his 80s, so I try to buy him things I'll be inheriting |

I gave my dad his 2nd grandkid for his birthday one year.
This year I'm considering a Toilet Twin (donation to improve sanitation in 3rd world countries). If you knew my dad, you'd agree it's a very appropriate gift. |
