Gawd bless the Chi branch!!!
Hadn’t had one for three months due to cockdown lockdown here and grabbed a drive through four weeks ago parked up in a forest and after eating felt very underwhelmed and still hungry.

It's not what I'm missing. But people will obviously want the things they've missed. I've worked throughout this and the bakers opening by my office was a brilliant day.
To be honest it smacks of elitism to sneer at people for taking advantage of being able to buy a McDonald's again. It's a shit time we're living in, let people get through it how they like |

Thirded.
McDonald's threads are so boring with the wouldn't feed that to my dog brigade.
That being said I wouldn't be into sitting in a mass queue for one. I will have one later on in then year.

"It’s been reported that the police had to briefly close the road near the branch closest to here due to the queues causing chaos.
"
That is true, I was stuck in the queue after work trying to get onto the A444, thought there had been an accident until I saw the police lady waving drivers into the drive-in entrance, I honestly thought “you sad assholes” when I realised what the hold up was |

" There's a lot not to like about McDonald's but it's hardly like eating eating a filthy kebab from a condemned kebab shop. It is cheap (in takeaway terms) fast food. I only eat it when peer pressure dictates after the pub/club which happens about once a year. Burger King or KFC are preferred for me but for some reason the children always chose McDonald's. |

I would sit in a queue for 12 hours if someone I loved really wanted one.
The world has been turned upside down. If something familiar like a Happy Meal might make them feel better then I would get them one. |

Great response
The food snobs love posts like this to show their disdain, but as you say,if it makes a loved one happy, with a happy meal or whatever, most would do anything for their loved ones |

Why does wanting something that is familiar and a treat for many make anyone a sad asshole?
It might not be your cup of tea but no need to condem those that do like it. |

Our lives have been so disrupted and people want familiar comforts. That sounds really normal to me. |

The good thing about the sheep following the sheep to queue up at mcds is that all the stale food thats been in the fridges/freezers for monthes will get used up. Theyll be shitting through the eye of a needle. They,ll be another surge on the shitty roll again |

Hull |
Up in Hull today, queueing drivers backed up local roads to one drive-thru, to extent that local buses had to divert and would be passengers waiting for buses had to head for alternative stops.
Are people that heartless, thick, thoughtless for others or just plain stupid to block roads for hours just for crap food?
Maybe the Police should have booked them all for blocking the highway? A hefty fine would make their meal very expensive indeed!

And trapped in a carpark by the huge queue at the one in the town whilst out doing my job as a community nurse.
Never realised that a macdonalds was so important in peoples lives
Been open a day and all ready the litter from there is blowing around the streets ffs. |

All over the place! Northwesr, , Southwest |
It baffles my mind how people would be willing to wait two hours in a queue in some places for fast food which doesn't even taste that great to begin with.

"Don't you love their cold shitty 'burgers' and bread crumbed pink goop, also known as 'chicken' nuggets!"
Are you sure??
You clearly have never been into a McDs in the UK
The burgers are decent cuts of beef, minced with just a bit of salt added
The nugget chicken is pure white breast meat
And no, I don't work for McDs or one of their suppliers, I just hate the unnecessary misinformation spread about them as a business
You really wouldn't want to know where the average local chicken shop sources their meat from! |

Lol, every McDonalds in UK I've been to has given me cold burgers at some point. Not all of them but enough for me to complain, guess what, they gave me another cold burger in exchange...
The only thing McDonald's is good for is their smoothies. |

Always fresh then! |

"Not my thing. I only use McDonald’s if it’s an emergency and I cannot get anything else but saying that I don’t mind there nugget"
I only ever use shit Donalds drug store if I'm absolutely desperate usually if I'm driving after a belting hot home made curry
Their facility's are sufficient for defecation and the vile stench of their food simply aids a quick evacuation
I judge people who feel it worthy of time to queue to actually eat their chemical mixes ??? |

Even Heston Blumenthal said he can't say a big Mac doesn't taste good. As long as you're not caning a mcds everyday it's fine. Let people have a bit of enjoyment.
I do like one on the way back from football. |

Not eaten a McDonald’s for years ..When I was younger me and my friend bought a Big Mac and for some reason she used to take it all apart and eat it separately . In the middle of her burger was a receipt with a dirty shoe print the burger obviously fell onto the floor was picked back up and resold put me off McDonald’s after that ...
Oh yeah and a couple of years ago a worker from McDonald’s not far from me was caught wanking into the burgers... |

It's a rarity for me but it was a very special treat as a child, so it brings back memories. I can well see using it as a coping mechanism at the moment. |
