YSL - I’m telling you, won’t regret making that decision.

Sweet with a long lasting smell, outlast 99% of fab’s stamina.

I don’t like going for ‘common’ smells or the typical chit you see all the men going for, when a woman walks past me - she’ll 2nd look, just for the smell

Best graffiti I've seen in years was when some wag changed the V to an S on the billboards for this aftershave. Used the same font too. Bloody genius.

‘YSL - Y Eau De Parfum’ which is the darker bottle, it’s also the slightly stronger richer smell than the ‘YSL - Y Eau Fraiche’ which is the sweeter of the two.

Either one you can’t go wrong, it’s my go-to when I’m going anywhere. Savage, Creed all overused I found. I like a woman having to ask what smell that is

I found it cloyingly sweet! Having said that I was bought a bottle and used it all up, mostly as my office fragrance even though its far too deep for that. I just wanted to use it up so that I wouldn't have to wear it again! The dry down is a lot better than the opening which is in your face. But I think a lot of women prefer the warmer, sweeter scents on a man.

I'm quite happy that my top 3 haven't been mentioned. I'm going for:

1) YSL - Le nuit de l'homme

2) Armani - Aqua di Gio profumo

3) D&G - The one

Also rans are Chanel - Allure homme sport eau extreme and Dior Homme intense. If you like the 'blue' fragrances but don't want to pay silly prices, check out Versace - Dylan blue. For those on a budget that want something cheap and cheerful go for CK - Shock.

If you want to start a collection, watch Jeremy Fragrance on YouTube. He has some great advice.

He used to be good. Since he launched his own brand of fragrances he puts in little effort into his content and is heavily criticised for his pricing strategy. Also, he is acting totally weird in some of his videos and comes across cringey. Have you watched Gents Scents' channel? Or Aaron Terence Hughes who looks at fragrances from a different perspective particularly on a technical level and craftsmanship.

Yeah, I agree with you. He's selling his brand now. He's a good starting point for those getting into the hobby though.

Yes, once you get into it you can take it to the next level and look at the craftsmanship side of things and appreciate it more. It's like watches.

I've compared the original aventus creed and a copy (bought hubby original and copy to wear for work) and the copy smells the same but doesnt last for long. If I dont use fabric softener I can still smell the genuine one even after I've washed his clothes.

There is a bit of a revival amongst the fragrance community surrounding this. The original formulation is better as with all fragrances but the fact that this is a best seller after all these years makes me curious about this. Once shops reopen I might go for a sniff...

"Penhaligons anyone? Nothing like the heavy fragrances associated with 'bloke', really unusual."

Bloody love Penhaligons, mostly fell in love with Quercus years ago so share it with my man (he didn't like their Lily of the Valley so much haha). He smells great in Blenheim Bouquet, miss him in Lords/Douros. Have a teeny sample of Cousin Flora that I've eked out on bad days in lockdown.
