Lockdown Sex Ban!

Jump to: Newest in thread

By *iamondCougar OP   Woman  over a year ago

I don’t usually watch ITV news but this morning they are reporting new rules say there will be a ban on sex during lockdown

You cannot have intimate liaisons or an overnight stay with anyone not already living in your home.

Piers Morgan is on the case

"I don't see why this is suddenly news as this has been the case since March 23"

Exactly - I was wondering that with the umpteen threads about it yesterday. Why are people suddenly in uproar because they can't do something that they haven't been able to do for the last 2 and a bit months anyway?

What an absolute load of rubbish. Totally unenforceable and not applicable anyhow to married couples or partners living together. They can't even enforce social distancing effectively if you look at all the packed parks and beaches. What a load of bollocks

If the MPs have really spent any time in passing this as an actual law they are even more stupid they we already thought. This is a completely unenforceable law how will they know people have had sex in the privacy of their house.

Just as crazy the fact couples are now being told to not kiss and wear masks during sex the whole world is going mad.

consider this though say for example a married couple very much in love are both keyworkers love saying that word ok so they both have jobs where they are in contact with people at less that 2m apart eg supermarket workers or health workers etc they go home from a hard days slog get into bed and copulate how is that any different than two people that know each other and have a similar situation but dont live together? so is it illegal for the lovey dovey couple to get jiggy with it?

Birmingham/Paisley

Once again the press have jumped on someone's twitter comment for a headline. The actual clause everyone is talking about reads:

"No person may participate in a gathering which takes place in a public or private place indoors, and consists of two or more persons"

There are exclusions eg tradesmen as long as they can maintain distancing, but in reality there is little difference from mid March. If you are not from the same household, then you should not spend time together indoors.

It does annoy me that press pick up a tweet then run with the BIG headline where there is no story, yet everyone gets steamed up about it.

Sorry, rant over!

I think, quite frankly, that these are dangerous and potentially worrying times.

In recent years/times we've seen governments everywhere eradicate human rights/freedoms with little protest.

Leaders have used covid to cancel elections and kill democracy, the US has, in recent years, made abortion (even in the case of *ape) illegal in many states - and Trump is abusing his power more daily.

The Sun has reported that 'experts' decree that a ban on extra-marital sex may eradicate HIV - i'm sure the eradication of STD's will get a mention soon too.

Yep - covid has killed a lot of the sick and the elderly and that's terrible - but how much will it damage the mental health of a single person when you deny them any physical human contact for an indefinite period? - And do we really believe that Boris will stand on the podium and announce that casual sex/contact is allowed again any time soon?

Officially banning us from having sex/intimate contact (and the UK is the only country to make this law) is an infringement of the most basic of human rights - and has turned us from a nanny state into a police state.

As you may gsther i'm furious - and am sorely tempted to walk into a police station and shag a fellow fabber (preferably a copper himself) in the foyer!

As am I - but it's the fact that sex has been officially criminalised that is of massive concern. I understand and agree with 'guidelines' - but to criminalise sex outside a permanent relationship is a huge leap too far imo.

I feel the same way. Criminalising human needs and rights is a concern. It becomes a matter of mental health when so many people are affection deprived and are forced to feel criminal for wanting to do what feels natural in these circumstances, which is to seek contact.

One size does not fit all. These guidelines are contrived to serve the economy and not taking care of people.

I've known of a few couples who don't live together to split up through all of this. Probably silly I know because if they love each other truly they would be able to wait. But they was sticking to guidelines and couldn't even meet, hug or kiss each other. It will test people's states of mind and mental health if it carries on too long. On the fab flip side there are people with vulnerable people in their households so I totally get why they won't.

I read that in the Netherlands they've suggested that singles choose a single fb and have intimate contact only with that person during the covid crisis.

I think this approach is far more reasonable, realistic and humane.

I absolutely fail to see why this shouldn't be the reccommendation in the UK and other countries too. It's essentially choosing a lockdown husband/wife and would pose little or no more risk than two key workers who cohabit but work in different environments - or will the government ban them from having sex now too?

I rarely had sex before the ban anyway so I'm not that bothered.
