The WVM report and subsequent press stories show that about 30% admit to the driving stereotype. It has made me look at white vans a little more carefully today and I had a pleasant surprise.
The company promotion of a very clean white van stated 'gorgeous drivers' as part of their service. I couldn't get in front of the van to check but it made me smile.
WMV came to my rescue earlier today. Driving my aunts I was cut up twice by a man compensating for something by driving his sports car like an idiot. Traffic was heavy and he managed to get in front of me but no further. For my earlier failures to get out of his when he kept pressing his horn he then drove at 5mph in front of me and kept braking suddenly.
The white van behind me then started blowing his horn and I thought I was stuck between two idiots when the WVM pulled into the bus lane and cut the sports car up, did the same 5mph and sudden braking before getting out and just calming saying to the idiot driving the sports car 'annoying isn't it'.

Some have no rode sense whatsoever and shouldn't be allowed to drive. That is one occasion cctv would be welcomed if it could be used as evidence to force them out of a car and onto public transport. |

The report is stating that about 30% admit to the stereotype. That means about 70% don't. As with all sterotypes the typology tends to be of significantly noticeable traits of some. We'd all do well to put aside the stereotypes, me included.
