What kind of hotdogs you been having? It should be in a finger roll, a sandwich is 2 separate, or more if you're really hungry, pieces of bread with a filling in between

No, no, no, no, no, no and no it’s not! A hotdog is in a finger roll! A sausage sandwich is when it’s in between two pieces of sliced bread (or its also a bloody good night ) a sausage bap is when it’s in a bread roll. End of thread, it’s closed, goodnight

Nope, if it ain’t between at least 2 slices of bread it ain’t a sandwich

I've always gone on if the sausages are sliced and in bread it's a sausage sandwich..... a whole sausage in a roll it's a hotdog ??

No because it's in a bun and not 2 slices of bread. Sliced bread is a sandwich. A bun is a roll. The "hotdog" is just the sausage, nothing to do with the roll.

Technically yes. Americans call a burger a sandwich, because technically it is.

No they dont....they call it a burger. Americans call a peanut butter and jelly (jam) sandwich and that's on sliced bread. A sandwich is sliced bread. A hot dog is a sausage

In many restaurants you'll find the burgers under the sandwiches section of the menu.

There are many different forms of bread, not just white sliced.

I know this but a hot dog isn't bread at all....its a sausage! The roll/bun is an after thought.

So if you have a fancy baguette, with your choice of filling and the bread isnt cut all the way through (two pieces)... is it not a sandwich?

You don't make a baguette.. you use a baguette to make a sandwich.

A wrap doesnt (?not always/ever) has yeast in it therefore not bread.

Nah, it would then be classed as ‘sandwiched’ fair play but it isn’t a sandwich!!

Your face isnt a sandwich pffttt..

Cutting it vertical/horizontal would have it become two separate pieces I.e. slices of bread.

A baguette is a type of bread after all.

Call me bratty again!

You can but a sliced loaf, you can’t buy a sliced baguette? Sure it would be classed as ‘split’ baguette?

As for calling you Bratty... I’m not sure if it’s a request or warning so I’m getting in the fence

A sandwich is something inside bread.

So a hotdog is essentially a sandwich but in a roll.

Which is usually called a roll and not a sandwich.

Hotdog sausages could be inside 2 pieces of bread - therefore a hotdig sandwich.

Your welcome

I disagree.

A hot dog isn't a sausage, a hot dog sausage is a hot dog sausage.

A hot dog is the sausage and bread together.

You could have a bratwurst, which is a sausage, whack it in some bread, and then it becomes a German hot dog.
