How are you staying motivated to workout during the lockdown?

I've been eating like a pig.

I have been trying to exercise 2 times a day: bike ride and a run followed by weights.

I would normally be in the gym 4 or 5 times a week. I have been surprisingly ok with my diet....despite being at home and all that food on my doorstep. Think its down to having a good routine and being prepared: I make overnight oats to have every morning etc.

I also think it helps immensely that the days are longer and the weather is good...motivates me to get out and enjoy it. Better than being stuck in a gym with few windows tbh. I do miss the gym but this is nice!!

Before I got sick it really helped my mental health to keep on it.

Now I'm so weak I have an imperative to get back to it when I can.

Having a regular exercise routine does wonders for your mental health.

I'm hoping gyms will be opening soon.

Total lack of motivation myself I’ve lost nearly a stone due to lack of appetite and just not training, agree that it does wonders for all-round feel good factor too!

I am sooooo routine driven. I thrive on a daily routine....I like predictability. This is why I went to the gym at the same time.

Alot in my life was and is going to change and my gym routine will need to change also. Think I will try and incorporate a bike ride etc into my gym sessions also. I always just went to the gym...prefer it for weights handsdown but cardio....can do from home as a top up.

I don't miss the gym..but i miss dancing with others and yogs classes. Im doing yoga in the garden with huge gratitude for the amazing weather. But shorter sessions than usual. I'm also Running and long country walks now we can.

I'm staying active but have days where I feel exhausted and unmotivated.

Durham

I got to the stage recently where my clothes were too tight. I had been extremely busy working and grabbing snacks instead of eating healthy.

My PT has been able to offer lots of sessions so she really helps me stay motivated, plus other members of her sane business.

I find it so much easier if you have the physical and mental support of others. To me it makes a significant difference.

I have been eating healthy and exercising 5 days out of 7 for the last 3 weeks, had a significant calorie deficit but haven't even lost 1lb. I am looking less bloated though and starting to tone up.

I shall keep on going and hopefully the weight will start to come off.

I must be one of the lucky ones, never have a problem with motivation. Just lace up the trainers and go out the door

My housemate bought a set of scales at the start of lockdown that told me my body fat was borderline obese....this made me get the finger out. 12 weeks later and 2 stone lighter and I'm feeling a heck of a lot better about myself
