I've agree'd to be a case study for a friend who is training up to go into this line of work. I'm not a massive fan of having my feet touched at the best of times.
Have any of you had any good/bad experiences with treatment? |

Ive had it done once before and only because I was told that it was really relaxing,I did'nt really want anyone touching my feet
Im glad I did as it was lush! apparently they can tell a lot about the rest of your body from your feet but it seems I was ok apart from a slightly stiff neck, this was true as id not long had a car accident
I don't mind having my feet touched at all now and love them getting attention |

"Is it wrong to say I have no idea what reflexology is? "
It's use of the feet, and pressure points on them, in order to treat conditions elsewhere in the body. I'm not trained, have had some treatments, and do like it - but obviously case study anecdotal reports are not like full scientifically controlled research studies.
I apologise in advance if any part of this description is misleading. |

Reflexology, or zone therapy, is an alternative medicine involving the physical act of applying pressure to the feet, hands, or ears with specific thumb, finger, and hand techniques without the use of oil or lotion. It is based on what reflexologists claim to be a system of zones and reflex areas that they say reflect an image of the body on the feet and hands, with the premise that such work effects a physical change to the body - Copied that from Wiki |

Mrs Steborah is a qualified reflexologist. To be honest I dont really like it as it gives me "Contraindications"! (I think its called) which make me feel a bit sick afterwards but lots of other people like it |

"is hand reflexology a different subject? or is it the same thing? I know she wants my feet but she never mentioned my hands "
I believe you can carry out the same procedure on hands as well as feet. |

North of The Wall - youll need your vest |
I had a 'diagnostic' reflexology session once when I was in China. Started off as what Id describe as a normal foot massage using a smooth wooden massager.
But then he started touching various parts of my foot and I would shoot through the roof - I could feel the small 'knots' associated with different parts of the body and afterwards he gave me a list of all the things wrong with me and all the various chinese medicines I should take for treatment
Have to say the list was spot on but my feet were really sore for days afterwards.... |

it is a great treatment when done by the right person. i hate getting feet touched too.
i actually can do a little reflexology in the ears as i do other holistic therapies. u can do it on hands, feet and ears.
the best place is the feet as that is the gateway to your full body.
each zone on your feet represent a different part of your body .
go for it!!!! hope you enjoy xxx |

You learn something new everyday! No one will want to go near my feet - they are all knarled and twisted after 10 years of rugby as a prop forward!!!

"reflexology=psuedoscience
there is no evidence to link ailments to other parts of the body in your feet"
However there is hard scientific evidence that the levels of stress hormone in a body is greatly reduced by a reflexology treatment. |

omg that was sooooo relaxing,, most enjoyable 2 hours ive had in a while
I just wanted to fall asleep, was bliss.
only had two little niggles which according to the foot chart she had related to the neck and upper back. I was laid on my sofa at a slightly uncomfortable angle so guess the feet do relate to other parts of the body. Got 4 more sessions so will see
Im all chillled and mellow now and just want to sleep lol |
