I like Mark Mansons take on this:
'Finding something important and meaningful in your life is the most productive use of your time and energy.
This is true because every life has problems associated with it and finding meaning in your life will help you sustain the effort needed to overcome the particular problems you face.
Thus, we can say that the key to living a good life is not giving a fuck about more things, but rather, giving a fuck only about the things that align with your personal values.'

Never get less than twelve hours sleep.
Never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city.
And never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. |

Know when to hold them
Know when to fold them
Know when to walk away
Know when to run
You never count your money when you’re sitting at the table, they’ll be time enough for counting when the dealings done.
I used to think the song was about playing cards with money, how wrong was I |

"Never stop questioning, including yourself.
Keep learning
Why ?"
Because 95% of what we think, and therefore believe and do is un-conscious reaction. Remaining open and questioning yourself keeps the door of self awareness open. |

New evidence emerges to strengthen your position, to be the best you can be.
And the world is full of wonder, things to be explored. |

Not aimed at you, but that makes me think about knowing the difference between denialism/ raising doubts for no reason and genuine enquiry/ scepticism. |

I’m doing some stuff on this right now...and my current answer is that healthy questioning feels good...light, exciting - your own truth; and when things feel bad and heavy, and make you feel worse, that’s probably the inner critic/socialised voice speaking. |

Don't say yes to something/doing something unless you want to. Say no and don't feel bad about saying no if you don't want to. Don't let anyone treat you badly and perform random acts of kindness towards people without any other motivation other than simply being nice. |

Hmm. Maybe. I think growth can be intensely uncomfortable.
For me it's more about whether you're looking for the best evidence, whether you're prepared to change your mind, whether you hold all positions to the same standards. |

Packs of cookies on the whoopsies, 12p a bloody bag.

That Tesco advice I’d take with a pinch of salt...I was queuing to pay for 30 mins from 9pm!! |

Was it just one queue, or did you leave the queue to go get extra whoopsie cookies?
You can tell me. I do it too. |

Just had to google whoopsie cookies...so basically a party ring from the 80s but without the icing, dipped in American chocolate..? Nope, wouldn’t have left my place in the queue for that!! |
