"Minted lamb chops are very nice!"

Ultimate favourite of mine but didn’t know you could do them on the bbq. I’m new to this game...

It's all in the rubs, seasoning and marinades.

Start preparing your meat in advance and your taste buds will be rewarded on BBQ day.

Bananas - wrap peeled bananas loosely in foil with a drizzle of honey or golden syrup, you can even add a splash of rum or another tipple. Just put on the barbecue after all the savoury stuff has cooked.

Corn on the cob is always nice barbecued - I rub a little paprika in first.

Mussels are nice, they boil in their own juices, sadly no humane way to kill them that I'm aware of

Agreed with the bananas. I do this with maple syrup.

Monkfish and bacon kebabs are yummy. Marinate the monkfish in garlic, olive oil, and rosemary, and balsamic vinegar. skewer on sticks with whatever veggies you like or ciabatta pieces then loosely wrap bacon around and stick it on to cook about 5 minutes in each side depending how thick your fish pieces are

Tropical rum bananas..

Unpeeled bananas

Mix the items below together

Muscovado sugar

Soft butter

Treacle

Spiced rum

Slit bananas curve side up (so mixture doesn't spill out) and gently spoon in the mixture then close the slit and wrap in tinfoil.

Should take around 10-15 minutes in the embers (open one if it's not cara_elised leave it a few minutes longer)

Serve with ice cream

Aubergines/peppers/chicken skewers

Buy the single ingredients ant the skewers and prepare them.

You can also marinate them in oil, sweet / smoked paprika and a bit of salt

We do the bananas in foil unpeeled with a slice opened in the skin and choc chunks inserted in the middle then scoop out and serve with squirty cream or ice cream, great for camping deserts with all the kids helping

Halloumi! Sliced fairly thickly so it doesn't burn to a crisp - add a glug of good olive oil in bowl with some freshly chopped chilli, parsley, garlic and sea salt and pepper. Dip your halloumi in or leave to marinade overnight and then bbq. So so good.

If you got a bbq with a lid, leave the foil open and smoke the salmon for 20 minutes

You can get smokers that fit on the BBQ which is even better

Somewhere over there

Unfortunately done too many Guide camp with ‘banana in tinfoil’ variations, that I can’t suggest that

But peppers/onions/baby tomato/mushroom skewers good. Soak wooden skewers in cold water so they don’t burn up too quick. Marinade of olive oil and herbs.

Sausages, fish (usually salmon or tuna) as well as sardines which are actually nice. Chicken skewers usually a marinade of some sort (ideally in fridge a couple hours)

Definitely corn on the cob; that’s so nice BBQ’d.

My folks tended to go to town on BBQs and I’ve already missed two but hoping to have a socially distant one in June for my birthday

Watched an episode of ‘come dine with me’ that was in Belfast and the guy had a massive rotating BBQ; look up the website for recipes.
