I grew up with Roger Moore he is my usual one but Daniel Craig is a lot more rugged and less cheesy in the role and more action ,,, Timothy Dalton didn't do too bad job, but Pierce Brosnan must be the worst ever |

"Roger Moore definitely the best.
Always thought Sean Connery took it too seriously and disappeared up his own backside a bit.
Haven’t seen any Daniel Craig ones so can’t really comment on him. "
Well you should..and moore was pure cheese |

Casino royale, Skyfall, you can skip quantum of solace and spectre |

I’m not avoiding Daniel Craig, I simply haven’t seen any modern Bond films as I don’t go to the cinema any more and haven’t had a telly for years.
Moore’s’ cheeseness was what the role needed, people took it all too serious. |

On a bit of a tangent, someone who would have made a great Bond but didn’t get the gig was Clive Owen. I think he could have combined the necessary cool and swarve with a bit of light heartedness. I’m guessing he’s too old for it now as when they pick another they’ll want them to do a run of films over so many years. |

Bloody hell Daniel Craig is the worst. I've never seen a man pout so much. Why would James bond be pouting?!
That said, he's had two decent films.
Brosnan was good but the films were terrible.
Dalton nailed it.
I've never actually watched the lazenby one.
Roger Moore was funny, the film were funny too and he's who I grew up with so I have a soft spot for him.
Sean Connery was both good and had decent films. |

It's great to see the love for Dalton. He was way ahead of his time in the role and matched the character perfectly. Just don't watch the Alan Partridge episode where Lynn disses him. You'll never be able to watch Dalton again without thinking 'The name's Bond, Jones the Bond'. |

There and to the left a bit |
For me in order best to worst
Connery - the original and set the bar
Craig - possibly closest to the books
Dalton - similarly close to the books
Lazenby - much underrated
Moore - did 3 good films - anything from Moonraker on was rubbish
Brosnan - picked up the corny Bond angle from Moore and Goldeneye aside was pretty ropey |

I think Croupier is closest will get to seeing owen as bond...great film
I hope he still gets a stab at a bond villain...his slow deliberate pace and droll tone suits a villain who just doesn't give a shit about anyone.

A View to a Kill was a classic. Duran Duran, Grace Jones, Steed, Christopher Walken, the Eiffel tower and a blimp. What more do you want? |

I think everyone has a soft spot for the bond they grew up watching.
But the best honestly I think is Daniel Craig. Casino Royale is just phenomenal. Couple of others have been good as well, but quantum of solace was awful. |

View To A Kill was ok but still not a patch on the first three he did and off the back of the atrocities that were Moonraker, For Your Eyes Only and Octopussy was a minor redemption but still wouldn't push him further up my list - even though Live & Let Die and Spy Who Loved Me would probably be in my Top 10 Bond films |

Connery was the best with Craig as a close second. The rest weren't a patch on them.
The next bond cant be a woman and Idris Elba should be the only black person considered to play the part IMO |

Sean Connery is bond persona all day every day
Daniel Craig's films do not portray a bond esq for me, more of a personal separate story of 007 whilst other 00's are doing all the James Bond M16 work |

"It's great to see the love for Dalton. He was way ahead of his time in the role and matched the character perfectly."
This is exactly right. Everything Craig gets lauded for now, Dalton did better in the eighties. On top of which, Dalton *actually looks like Bond*. Some of the Craig films are good, sure, but Craig himself doesn't look like Bond. Bond's supposed to be handsome and suave. Craig looks like someone who'd try to pick a fight with me in a takeaway at 3am. |

"James Bond is not black.....
That's like saying Dr. Who can't be a woman?
The films aren't faithful to the books so why do the characters need to be?"
Thats when they spoilt it, how the hell can dr who be a woman? PC gone mad. |

"Connery, Craig, Dalton, Brosnan, Lazenby, Moore. "
Exactly my order, too.
Brosnan was sharp, clever, but just not physically right for the character that Fleming penned. |

I’m available if they need me but I told them to go with Peter Capaldi first, Liv Coleman second, Idris third. |

Could be a good one, as long as his hair isn't ginger in it! Nothing against gingers just don't think bond is ginger (or a woman) in my opinion |

Pierce Brosnan; just sexy and also as I played Goldeneye on the N64!
Dalton as he fits the role the best compared to the books
Connery for being the first
Craig for the action but he’s too beefy IMO.
Looking forward to the final Craig film and it’ll be interesting to see who’s next.
I’ve enjoyed a couple of books; ‘Trigger Mortis’ by Anothony Horrowitz and ‘Carte Blanche’ by Jeffery Deaver who use excerpts of Flemings work in them.

"Connery and Craig are the only Bonds that have ever been any good.
Agreed "
Yep. They're the only ones who portrayed him for what he was; a killer.
I'm a Connery fan but Craig's Casino Royale is Bond in his purest form. |

Yes but in real life Idris is a wet lettuce.
The image doesn’t get matched by the reality. |

I grew up watching Connery and Moore, but I think the way the latest movies have been written (no cheese) are much more in keeping with the original character and Craig plays him very well.
I’d have to say Craig too, albeit he’s benefited from ‘better’ stories. |

Craig - Especially in Casino Royale, was the Bond I'd envisioned when reading the books. D
He carries off the 'not giving a damn whether he lives or dies' thing perfectly. |
