I’m not avoiding Daniel Craig, I simply haven’t seen any modern Bond films as I don’t go to the cinema any more and haven’t had a telly for years.

Moore’s’ cheeseness was what the role needed, people took it all too serious.

On a bit of a tangent, someone who would have made a great Bond but didn’t get the gig was Clive Owen. I think he could have combined the necessary cool and swarve with a bit of light heartedness. I’m guessing he’s too old for it now as when they pick another they’ll want them to do a run of films over so many years.

Bloody hell Daniel Craig is the worst. I've never seen a man pout so much. Why would James bond be pouting?!

That said, he's had two decent films.

Brosnan was good but the films were terrible.

Dalton nailed it.

I've never actually watched the lazenby one.

Roger Moore was funny, the film were funny too and he's who I grew up with so I have a soft spot for him.

Sean Connery was both good and had decent films.

It's great to see the love for Dalton. He was way ahead of his time in the role and matched the character perfectly. Just don't watch the Alan Partridge episode where Lynn disses him. You'll never be able to watch Dalton again without thinking 'The name's Bond, Jones the Bond'.

There and to the left a bit

For me in order best to worst

Connery - the original and set the bar

Craig - possibly closest to the books

Dalton - similarly close to the books

Lazenby - much underrated

Moore - did 3 good films - anything from Moonraker on was rubbish

Brosnan - picked up the corny Bond angle from Moore and Goldeneye aside was pretty ropey

I think Croupier is closest will get to seeing owen as bond...great film

I hope he still gets a stab at a bond villain...his slow deliberate pace and droll tone suits a villain who just doesn't give a shit about anyone.

View To A Kill was ok but still not a patch on the first three he did and off the back of the atrocities that were Moonraker, For Your Eyes Only and Octopussy was a minor redemption but still wouldn't push him further up my list - even though Live & Let Die and Spy Who Loved Me would probably be in my Top 10 Bond films

"It's great to see the love for Dalton. He was way ahead of his time in the role and matched the character perfectly."

This is exactly right. Everything Craig gets lauded for now, Dalton did better in the eighties. On top of which, Dalton *actually looks like Bond*. Some of the Craig films are good, sure, but Craig himself doesn't look like Bond. Bond's supposed to be handsome and suave. Craig looks like someone who'd try to pick a fight with me in a takeaway at 3am.

Somewhere over there

Pierce Brosnan; just sexy and also as I played Goldeneye on the N64!

Dalton as he fits the role the best compared to the books

Connery for being the first

Craig for the action but he’s too beefy IMO.

Looking forward to the final Craig film and it’ll be interesting to see who’s next.

I’ve enjoyed a couple of books; ‘Trigger Mortis’ by Anothony Horrowitz and ‘Carte Blanche’ by Jeffery Deaver who use excerpts of Flemings work in them.
