With the gyms closed and me sat at home I'm after some advice. I want to loose weight around the tummy but gain a bigger bum. I've just brought a cross trainer and have a weight bar and resistance bands. Any fitness freaks out there to help with the nutrition side of things? X |

Hi low carbs hight protein and a calories deficit works but you must work the muscles otherwise your body will waste muscle over fat hope this is helpful |

Use an online dietary calculator. Track what you eat using my fitness pal. Its a ballache at first but once you have built up your own database it literally is just two clicks. Eyeballing it can be drastically inaccurate. Restricting carbs as mentioned is a good way. Avoiding sugar is also going to reap rewards. Fruit contains a lot of sugar so be mindful of this. Some people drink lots of fruit juice thinking it is very healthy but juice is full of sugar but without the benefits of fibre. Intermittent fasting also works for many people. I, myself use all of these methods in conjunction with each other. Haven't weighed myself over lock down but judging by the fit of my clothes I reckon I have shed at least a couple of lbs whilst maintaining muscle mass. At its simplest, you just need to have a calorie deficit. You may need to adjust weekly in case the suggested calorie levels aren't accurate. But they provide a good base to work from. Trying to be consistent is key. Maintain a routine for a few weeks and there should be obvious physical, maybe even psychological changes to give you the momentum to carry on. Good luck! |

Yeah hight protein, low carb diet. Plenty of chicken and fish . Less of the pasta and potatoes And keep your fluid intake up. Lots of water.....Good luck |

I wouldn't worry about huge changes or going on a "diet"
Just try to reduce the snacking and junk food if you do that. Less bread, potatoes and pasta ( made a big difference for me) increase protein and drink more water.
Try 4 meal's a day.
Squats, deadlifts, core work

You cant spot lose fat.
Choose one goal and work on that, lose the fat first, then add the muscle after.
Weights all the way through to preserve what muscle mass you have. |

You cant do spot reduction it is a myth, for the other do some body squats, to reduce the stomach area you have to be in a calorie deficit for a long time until you reach your goal with it, have some refeed days too. |
