Pink usually ... less messy than the brown in my experience

If in doubt..then don't.. Try both you may like them more than you expected to...

Or be greedy and have both at the same time..

Pink look wrong on doughnuts. As it has gone nowhere near a strawberry my pick would always be chocolate.
