did i just hear right?

It always amamzes me that people can cry crocodile tears, if it's the case that they did start the fire.
I believe they were looking for a bigger property, maybe they thought if the building was damamged they would have to be moved.
Not excusing or criticising. Am sure the truth will come out sooner or late |

not far from iceland,,,,,, tescos is nearer though :-) (near leeds) |
I've not read or seen the news footage, so couldn't comment really, only thing I will say if it had been my girls in the house nothing on earth would prevent me from getting them out, I certainly wouldn't have been in any condition either physically or mentally to give a press conference ..
Tragic, |

i agree with you.
i would have rather died trying, than lived and stood by crying, and im almost certain most others would too (and i have no kids)
if what has been reported is true then it really is a terrbile indictment on the society we live in today, where childrens lives are bartered for wealth, fame, money and property.
and people have asked me why i always refused to have children.

have they been accused of starting the fire?
I have to be honest tho that never crossed my mind i did think how can all your kids die and not you, because they was to young to be left alone and lets be honest whos going to run out of a fire without taking your kids first, something didnt feel right about it |

"lets just all remember one thing tho
they havnt been found guilty, as yet its only an accusation"
no offence, NN, but the fuzz wouldnt add to a families anguish without good cause, ESPECIALLY in a situation like this. |

No one has been charged yet - its worth remembering that
I have read that they wanted a bigger property so could have set fire to it to get this .. I also read that he has been in prison for stabbing a girl to death and stabbing her mother
No one knows the truth but god help him and her if they are guilty of this |

Sometimes the cops do press conferences because they are already suspicious. They would have been looking at body language and expressions.
I was shocked at today's news but not surprised - who want's to go in front of the cameras when you have 5 dead kids and one dying in hospital !
Maybe they turn out to be totally innocent but I doubt the police would make these arrests without some damn good reason and evidence to back it up |

I've just watched the press conference lead by the father. Not once did he ask/beg/plead for help in catching the killers of his kids ....he did ask for people to back off and leave his family alone and only ask him questions
Someone tell me I'm reading wrongly into it ....I can't bare the thought of parents being able to murder their own ....let alone follow it up with such crocodile tears |

Ever since Susan Smith every time I see these press conferences I think "they did it". The only exception was little Reece in Liverpool.
There have been too many incidents when the nearest and dearest have been responsible for the death. I wasn't surprised or shocked...however...innocent until proven guilty. |

Can you imagine if they haven't done it how awful to be innocent and accused
Part of me hopes they haven't got it wrong for that reason and part of me hopes they have got it wrong as its too horrific a thought that any parent could do such a heinous act |

people are not innocent until proved guilty they are presumed innocent - there is a world of difference - there is probably loads of people walking our streets who have committed a crime but not found guilty in a court of law but they still committed the crime Rant over it's just that this simple phrase is always misquouted |

they havent been tried yet, maybe follow the story to its conclusion rther than hanging them right here and now
personally i cant believe that in this day and age people are still shocked when things like this happen. |

to be fair in any day and age someone killing 6 kids is still shocking
even tho they have not been found guilty the fact they left the house without the kids just seems to make it feel dodgy
lets be honest how many people with kids would sooner die in the fire than run out and leave them, making a few attempts before giving up just dont wash with me, i just look at my kids and think.....you wouldnt leave them |

I think the day most people cease to be shocked by stuff like this, will be the day I bow out. |

actually, i think i should re-phrase cos that makes me sound like a heartless cow - and i'm not
it is shocking to hear of such events and i am disusted if these charges are correct
what i am not shocked about is that elements of this society are desperate/sick/mentally unstable to set fire to a house etc |

The police have only charged them as they were not granted a further extension to question them. It's still very possible they didn't do it.
However, they must have something to be going on. I do wish the press kept out of it though. It's disgusting watching them hounding a community in mourning. |

Let us not forget what the press did to the first man accused of Jo Yeates' murder. The police also charged him and the press convicted him before the police got Vincent Tabak. |

Obviously emotions are going to run wild in such dreadful circumstances where any deaths within the family unit are caused, but let us not forget about the wrongful convictions of Sally Clark and Angela Cannings and keep an open mind for the time being. The press thrive on such tragedies; and more so where it is going to stir the emotions of the general public, fuelling that condemnation for their own commercial benefit |

Reckon they expected to be able to run in and save the kids, becoming heroes in the process. But, being twattingly stupid, they didn't realise how fiercely petrol burns, or that their route upstairs was right by the front door, where they poured the petrol.
Fucking idiots using kids to boost their benefit lifestyle |

You are probably right. But to carry on the charade and deny you are responsible for the death of your own children is unforgivable
That's IF they are guilty btw. |

And the first guy that was convicted of the Jill dando murder. He was wrongly convicted again after the press stirred up a frenzy. |
