If you have a strong inclination for something...does your mind always stir conversations to that topic or it just pops up naturally from time to time? Let's say when your friend uploads a new pic which tickles your imagination. Are you able to expand your horizons and let go off it when someone isnt on the same kink wave but amusing/attractive otherwise or you seek out people who will indulge it?
I remember talking to someone for a while whose particular fetish would overtake everything. Nothing else would make this person feel as excitable during chat. I always wondered how powerful those thoughts must have been.. or maybe they were just on extreme end of the fetish spectrum?
Ps. Sorry for the rambling. Not sure if I explained myself clear. |

I think most men I talk to if they have a particular fetish it seems to be all they can talk about and that tends to bore me very quickly. I have a few but but I’m also very open minded about trying most things and switching it up so don’t let one thing consume my mind and I usually try and gage if u think the other person is interested in doing it before I talk about it |

Isn't that the difference between a fetish and a kink? A fetish is something they need in order to feel satisfied. A kink is something they like.
I have a kink for women in heels but I don't need a woman to be wearing heels every time in order to have sex. |

I've never even thought about that before. That makes sense though |

No idea but this distinction makes some sense. I need to read up more. |

I went out with a guy who had a satin fettish.
I used to play on it and would wear satin often.
I'd purposely do it to tease him, for example we would be out for coffee and I'd do it subtly with a satin headband or a ribbon on my wrist. I'd reveal enough of my shoulders so he could see I was in satin underwear.
Sometimes more blatant in a shirt or a dress.
It would drive him to complete distraction. It was incredibly powerful.
In some ways it took over though. I found myself a bit lost in trying to always please him. So my own likes in terms of clothes or underwear were ignored.
I don't think it was healthy in the end for me. |

Yes it is. I think that people nowadays use the words so interchangeably but I've always thought of a kink as being a bit outside the norm, something that turns you on. Like if a person is kinky they like something that's not necessarily seen as vanilla. A fetish to me is required - so if I had a fetish for... heels, the other person would (most of the time) have to wear them for me to be turned on.

Nothing one sided seems healthy..
And I understand. I like pleasing people, but if you feel after a while that balance of fulfillment is tipping dangerously away from you.. you wont find energy to keep it going long term.
It's an adventure though. Like Busty said.. worth exploring new things. And that empowerment.. oh not much can come close to that feeling hey? |

This is correct. Fetish is essentially a need in order to perform or cum. Kink is a want. |

Then it would appear that probably not as many people have true fetishes. Same as not many people have actual phobias, or some people claiming allergies whilst they just dislike the food.
I do wonder though if this determines the way they operate on here. |

This makes sense. I have a kink for women who wear glasses, but I don’t have any fetishes. Reading this has made me wonder whether kinks and fetishes are able to transition? Could my kink evolve into a fetish? Could your fetish degrade into just a kink? Is the connection between desire and psychology so malleable and capable of change? Definitely food for thought |

"My true fetish is sensual play, this is satisfied with a variety of kinks which I use to play with
Essentially I need equally paced, slow sensual passionate sex, the more animalistic the better "
