When you see someone that has a scar whether it’s a pic on fab or at the gym/swimming pool or just out, does it turn your stomach or it’s not an issue for you? |

Having scars myself from surgery and childbirth it would not bother me to see them on someone else.
Your scars are part of your history and anyone not liking them or making negative comments shouldn't be tolerated |

It's not an issue at all. I will admit sometimes I'll probably have more than a glance but I never think anything bad. I think they're pretty interesting! |

Not at all, they show your battles and what you've overcome.. some can be a bit shocking at first.. but its human nature to notice things that are different |

They’re not an issue for me. I don’t think positively or negatively about them. Sometimes if they’re quite prominent or in an unusual place or shape then I might wonder how they got them but depending who it was, I probably wouldn’t ask. |

"It's not an issue for me. I used to be quite self conscious about my C- section scar but it doesn't bother me now. "
Four years ago I was seeing a Brazilian woman who said she'd had a cesarian section. You literally could not see anything. I couldn't understand, as others I'd seen were clearly visible.
She told me in Brazil they do them differently to England & basically say they butcher you here.
I didn't know that. |

I have a couple of scars and a tummy of tiger stripes. Sometimes I'm self conscious of them. So when it comes to other people I know they may feel that way too. I wouldn't mention them. Some are actually rather beautiful because it's part of someone's journey in life |

Not got a c-section scar but years ago I think any wound that need stitching appeared to be a stitch you up quick job, where as now they are more conscious of the scar that will be left, maybe to do with people being more body conscious now and would perhaps look to have cosmetic surgery to correct if they thought unsightly. Nobody notices my throat scar from 5 years ago but I’m sure if it was done 20 years ago they would, they even told me the were going to cut along my crease before the op to disguise it, cheeky devils I said what crease haha |

Spooky timing. Tomorrow is the 3yr anniversary of my double mastectomy. I had some pretty bad scars- thick, purple and very noticeable. I was hung up on it for a long time. Ex husband refused to look at them
and i think he only touched them once.
Took someone special to help me get past it. And to be fair they've healed much better than i expected.
So no. I don't judge scars on others. I am curious to the back story but wouldn't put me off them. It's just packaging at the end of the day and some folk have a rougher journey than others. It's inside that counts x

Everyone has scars if not physically then definitely emotionally. I think it’s a self confidence thing as I have a few scars on my stomach from surgery 18 months ago and I hate them. But no one should judge you based on scars. |

I have a number of scars below my waist and up and down my legs also because of what happened my right foot sticks out at about 2 o clock.
I’m self conscious as fuck especially the ones on my legs. They have always been painfully pointed out with people also trying to touch them.
I don’t care as much anymore but it only takes the attention on me and it comes back. |

I am pretty heavily scared up from 2 major bowel surgery’s.I have a half zipper...I am just learning to embrace em...I think people stare more at my tattoos than my scars when I go swimming...it may put some people off or it may not but I am learning not to give a crap about it |

Not an issue at all. I have a few myself, never thought about hiding them. |

Not an issue for me. I used to hate mine, but a friend pointed out they’re there because of the surgery that saved my life, so now I can accept them x Viv x |

Having had surgery for cancer removal and 3 c-sections, I hate mine, but the Mr loves them as they are my history and with three fantastic children and the fact I’m still here to talk about them, he wouldn’t change them for the world. However, it still doesn’t stop me from hating them. So no they wouldn’t bother us on either men or women and they wouldn’t put us off someone either. |

I've a scar on my stomach and a few light scars on my head. I'm not conscious of them though and if someone was to ask, I'd tell them. I would hope they didnt turn people's stomach! |

depends on the scar and the location
I have 2 from c-sections and of they turn stomachs then it says more about them than me
I think scars can tell a story |

A double mastectomy, I can't imagine going through that.
You and your boobs look great..I hope you don't mind me saying that..but they do.
I'm glad that you have come out the otherside and found someone special who appreciates and cares for you, the person. As you say it is just the packaging and it's what's inside that really counts x

Not an issue, all part of the person and I’m sure everyone has at least one
As for asking, I don’t mind If people ask, but I’d find it odd if someone asked me as part of the initial conversation, I personally think they may have a shallow side, which I don’t find appealing in anyone |

I don't mind you saying that at all. It's took 3 long years but now I can almost see my scars the same way I see my tattoos. They mean something. Like the ink, I earnt them and they helped make me who I am.
And I've been very lucky to find someone who helps me believe that. And believes in me. Did not expect to find it here on fab, a place I joined as a kind of therapy to get past my scars and confidence issues. I must have done something right at some point to deserve this
Thank fuck for fab... |

The only scars that would bother me are self harm scars because they make me question their mental health and the Glaswegian facial"chibs" because most folk don't get them for nothing, it's not been unprovoked or been caused a random stranger in most cases.
Most of my scars are pretty small, the biggest is covered by my hair so that just leaves my tiger stripes all over my bum & back of thighs from 19 years ago, none on my stomach though. |

So, most of your scars are from scratch? |
