“I believe that attraction is like a book, the cover needs to please my eyes in order to make me want to read the book.”

Is this the same for you? Or will you ready any old book?

The synopsis on the back could make me want to read it the cover less so

I think that's a fair comment. Though it's the content of the book that prevents me from discarding it, and browsing the other covers?

Cover isn't all. First line has to hook you up.

Nice font is important too.

The cover is an important part of the package for me.

Some books I will not take out to read on a train.

I’m usually attracted to the pages before I even notice the cover

I remember having to stop reading catch 22 after a couple of pages on a train, couldn't surppress the giggles

Does it come as a audio book voiced by Morgan Freeman?

‘Know what’s on the inside of a book makes it attractive’

Which is no help

At first glance I like the cover. I read the blurb to wet my appetite then I glance at the first line. At that point the decision is made

It's about attraction....

A quality or feature that evokes interest, liking, or desire.

The saying is untrue.

A good title can be enticing enough.

Sometimes I only get halfway through because I realise the book was not as good as I first thought.

With some books you dont have a choice. You need them for life.

Then there are books you buy when you go on holidays. They jump out at you from the shelves and are good for the break but not worth bringing back. Some do surprise you and has more substance than you originally thought.

I have a shelf full of books behind me some have beautiful covers and some are very thick. Some have hard backs and some are delicate so need to handle with care.

I think I need lunch...

The book cover has to attract me in the first place but I like there to be something interesting between the covers too

?

On the rare occasions that a cover catches my eye, I'll read the first few lines...if they don't capture my interest then back to the shelf it goes. If I'm hooked from the word go, I'll immerse myself in the story and enjoy it right to the end.
