Random question, would any of you move to Australia if you had the chance, current situation aside.
Been offered the chance and would like other peoples opinions.

Me personally probably not. That's not to say it's bad, it's not. Do your research, it depends on where. Cost of living, change in lifestyle etc.
May not be possible for a long time given current thoughts on closing Australia and New Zealand until there's a vaccine. |

In terms of money it will be the same considering increase in wages offset with cost of living, so it's more the way of life etc |

"It would be near the border to nsw and Queensland
Nice part of the world."
It is, should I move there tho, I have a decent job and life etc here.
There I would have 1 friend, a really good one, but only one |

I’ve been three times and I love it. It’s got the best bits of this country crossed with the best bits of the USA. That gives a good mix.
The other thing I love is the outdoors lifestyle. You know those few good days we have in summer? When you can sit outside and maybe have a BBQ? That’s virtually every day in Oz from September to March.
I do love England though. |

I'd seriously consider it in your position, although you may need to really think about how far from a major city you'll be, and if that will suit you (people underestimate the scale of Australia). Easier coastal than inland.
Slower, more outdoorsy way of life, particularly outside capital cities.
The danger from animals is real but overrated.
Your diet will likely change due to cost differences and climate. |

Great. I would move any day! I have a home in Sydney and I was raised in London. I see the difference in both cities. The only thing is weather, summers can be really hot. Winters are like British summer. |

Hard to say. Just things to think about.
The internet makes it easier but the timezone difference is a killer (9-11 hours). |

NZ and Australia will have a trans tasman agreement where they can fly between countries. |

Once the borders are opened, I would jump straight in. It is a beautiful country. Great place if you love sports and beer! You will not regret it! |

Too hot and full of dangerous snakes and spiders ..
Give it a miss ..
It's way better than essex!
We have no dangerous sharks here "
Don't go swimming in the sea, no sharks to worry about. |

Fair enough, then it isn't for you. Many people can live with Australia's rich flora and fauna. |

I have done the reverse, I'm an Aussie in the UK.
It really is a case of listing the pros and cons.
Oz is expensive day to day living, but when it comes to housing, both rental and buying are much cheaper in Australia.
Lifestyle is great if you like the outdoors.
I love the travel opportunities. They are amazing, diverse and cheap here.
I could make a massive list but feel free msg me if you'd like to have a chat. |

You're young and single, I say go for it, you can always come back! My friend and her family went over because of her hubbies work. He had a 4hr commute by plane so stayed away 10 days at a time. She hated it and was back in the UK after a year. |

It sounds like the sort of place to send your mother in law to. Not for me.. I like the seasons.. |

How many seasons? All in one day? |

Have 2 sisters living there. Been a few times for holidays. Loved it. Just a different kind of life. Biggest regret was not moving there when I left my ex. Son pulled the heart strings with his grandparents. As someone said your young enough to give it a try for a few years. If you dont like it, it's only a flight back |

My sister moved with her husband to Perth and she loves it. If you are an outdoor person and fed up with city traffic and finding parkings in narrow roads, and you like sandy beaches with half naked peopl most of the time then Go for it - as far the job is worth it.
Not for me tho .. Britain is my beautiful homeland |

I’ve heard that work life balance is a nightmare in cities with less time off and an expectation to work longer hours.
Also, isn’t traffic a bit of a nightmare too? |

Yes, I would if only for the experience of living somewhere different.
It's a beautiful country and very friendly too with a high standard of living, although quite expensive. I've been there a couple of times and loved it. |

If you're in a city, the fauna really isn't a problem. Just apply a little common sense and don't go sticking your hand in places that spiders like to live.
NSW/Queensland border sounds like Gold Coast. I went there for work once. Strange place. Unbearably hot and humid. I'm not in a hurry to return.
For me, Australia is a place to visit in the winter. I could never live there again. Give me nice comfortable British weather.
There are definitely positives in the lifestyle, but I could never do another summer. |

Too me Australia is too far away. The cost of flights means it would not be easy for family to travel over often. I also would not want to live in a country with poisionous spiders and snakes moving around. If i were to move abroad i would stick to Europe. |
