On a mooch

The last time I watched live / normal TV was a football match in February and a programme I watched with a friend from two separate houses.

Other than that, it’s Netflix, prime, catch up apps or Now TV here - always something for both of us to watch

I do, simply because I don't have Netflix or the other services.

But because I've been retained as Caretaker for our closed down workplace, I have full live-in facilities provided, which includes FREEVIEW TV so I have dozens of channels to choose from.

I have freeview and that's it. I rarely watch any tv, but I will record a series and when I'm in the mood for telly I'll give the first couple of episodes a go to see if I like it.

Since I've been staying at home I've caught up on everything I recorded last year. Loved The Virtues, not so keen on World on Fire.

I'm too cheap to pay for something I probably wouldn't use, and I would also have to upgrade my very basic internet too as my current WiFi isn't good enough to stream (I got an Amazon stick a while back but it was painful with my current internet speed so it's never been used beyond that 5 minute try).

Fairly similar situation. Streaming services. Utube mostly for music only. I tend to go to Lbry instead.

Just the normal package that Virgin offer which at the present time seems to be regurgitated American dross, some little gems in there if you search for them.

When I retired 10 years ago I vowed never to watch daytime T.V, sadly the lockdown has changed that.

I don't actually. I suppose because when growing our family wouldn't watch much tv. There were some programs sure, but we'd not spend hours in front of the tube. Music was another matter, it was always on

I can't actually remember the last time I watched normal TV...must be years. I don't really watch that much Netflix etc either, I can quite happily go days or even weeks without it. I'd much rather have music on, or my face buried in a book, or have a chat with a friend.

My Own Little World

It is incredibly rare that I watch 'live TV' as in watching as it was broadcast. Ever since I've had recordable Sky I've recorded everything onto the planner to watch when I feel like it rather then when it is on.

So pretty much everything I watch is either Sky Q, catch-up, boxsets, Prime or Netflix's.

Saying that though, if I want background noise I put on Sky News, don't watch it as such as it is incredibly repetitive.

You do, if you have the data plans to allow it.

I can't afford those hefty plans, but in addition, why view any TV show on a screen of only a few square inches, when it's far better to view it on a screen 10 times larger or more! No brainer!

I've not had a tv signal for over 6 years! Had my sky ripped out and never looked back! Save myself about £100 a month between tv licence & sky subscription. I only watch amazon prime, netflix or youtube, but don't spend much time in front of the telly box anymore anyway! Used to be an absolute ADDICT aswell!

"I'm curious about this because I barely watch normal TV at all ( the odd 5pm briefing aside ) .

Just Netflix and YouTube now .

Anyone the same ??"

I watch the odd old sports match that's been uploaded on YouTube but apart from that I'm intrigued about what else is worth watching except the odd music video and funny clip.

The thing with You Tube is just to search for subjects you're passionate about and see what's on offer, I've found amazing stuff just by typing stuff in the search bar

I'm not the biggest fan of YouTube tbh as people will literally post any old shite on there. The best thing about YouTube is "Commentary Corner" that Adam Buxton does... very funny!

I've just got Prime and managed to add about 15 sports documentaries to my list already.

Just getting into Netflix about 5 years after everyone else!

On TV I mainly watch quiz/game shows, live Sport (which I'm missing massively) and the odd programme like First Dates so I can get dating tips before I send my application in.

Looks as though I'm the only one here who doesn't have any subscription type service then.

No Sky, no Amazon Prime, no Netflix.

No nothing.

Apart from YouTube

Birmingham

I watch PMQs on Wednesday and the daily Covod briefing most days, but other than that all I watch live is an occasional dip into E4 or Gold for repeats of Big Bang Theory and Top Gear (oh, and I found myself watching Judge John Deed on Drama last night), but most broadcast TV I record and watch later. I probably spend more time on Netflix and Prime these days.

In the middle

BBC rarely unless it involves David Attenborough or an international rugger game, sometimes athletics but that’s about it

ITV never unless it involves animals or rugby

Channel 4 never unless it involves animals or sport

Channel 5 does it still exist
