What are we classing as a chair? Could we use another person as a chair?
There are more sheep than people, what if we sat on sheep? That would solve the chair shortage situation and a great way to keep an eye on all the sheep |

I’m going to say chairs
For me chairs is anything you can park your bum on and therefore a seat
Even a one person household will have an average of 6 seats. Then take into account all the seats in transport, cars, planes, trains, bicycles, etc |

Would all depend how you define a chair, can stools, sofas be counted ? Chairs arent used in many countries as one previously mentioned but if you classed sports stadiums, theatre office or work places, cinema seating etc as chairs along with sofas stools etc then think it could be about an equal count edging towards more seats than people.. |

I going to say chairs. Think of all the hotel function rooms, convention centres, pubs and restaurants and community centres with stacks of chairs and no bums in them. If we widen it to seating then you've theatres, cinemas, clubs. I could go on  |

What is a chair
Everyone KNOWS what a chair is
But as you rightly say is a chair what we think it is or what it does
As a chair could indeed be any shall we suggest any inanimate object upon which we could sit upright then I'm sure plenty of fallen trees exist
Of course I often use a table as a chair
Does a chair need a back to be a chair or else is it just a seat
I need a clear definition of chair before answering the people question

I'm actually thinking about this now. We have 4 people in our house and 16 chairs plus we each have a chair at work or school so thats 5 chairs for every one person. On this basis I am saying more chairs than people |

Not unassisted as they can’t open the tins or get the film off those ones in the plastic four-packs that are individually a little too big for one person but too small for two.
Potentially just the right size for a horse. Oh the irony. |
