My mother was a good cook but would often try new recipes albeit with mixed results.

One day as, Dad (Head Taster) manfully tried to eat her latest dish, she returned to the kitchen.

Dad said, "Lads (my brother and me), when your future wife cooks you something new and it's good, you tell her many times! If it's crap, shut up totally".

It worked out for us two over the years!
