I don't get why so many people don't like weatherspoons.
To be fair almost everyone I've been in was immaculate, food was good and I couldn't fault the alcohol.
The worst thing I would say about it is some of the clientele can be a bit rough, but you always get that where cheap drinks are served. |

People are very fickle though , many of the same people loved him when he was ploughing money into Brexit. He’s an ardent libertarian and successful businessman and has a law degree so his actions were very predictable imo. |

Love the big breakfast. And love the cookie dough and ice cream. Ours is nice. Never had a bad meal there. Cheap and cheerful if you can’t be arsed cooking in the week which happens a lot here |

The food isn’t comparable to a good restaurant no, but when a family of 4 can get 3 courses and drinks for around £40 it works for a lot of people.
Yes there are chavs and some rough customers , but all pubs represent the communities they serve , those people exist ! personally we don’t have any issue mixing with different types of people , from different backgrounds, different views, posh people can be just as nasty!

I do prefer a premier inn though. I’ve stayed in some expensive hotels in London and they’ve been awful compared to a premier inn. As long as somewhere is clean I’m happy and they always have been |

Yeah as long as it's clean. With my job I have stayed all over the UK and I have stayed in some expensive hotels and I couldn't wait to get out of them.
Some people assume the more you pay the better.. But it doesn't always work like that. |

That’s true, luxury is nice....we love cocktails and the plant burger in the Virgin clubhouse at Heathrow , and Marriot Signature hotels ... but you pay insane amounts for that privilege .....we like bargains and spoons too! |

Wetherspoons is what it is, is it gonna be gormet? No, but you know what you're gonna get. Fills a hole.
That said, some local ones are a bit rough depending on location. Prefer the city centre ones. |

Think he means the breweries who charge the landlords high prices for the beer, and they're locked into that supplier, which the landlords then have to pass on to the customer. Rather than the landlords choice to charge double. |

Yes I understand they can't compete exactly with wetherspoons but the village I live in has centrally about 10 pubs and the cheapest pint you can get of normal bitter is £3.70
I'm sure if a wetherspoon's opened here you could knock quite a bit off that £1.71 more expensive im sure that isnt all due to cost from brewers.

The reason Wetherspoons is so comparatively cheap is because they buy kegs that are just a week or two within date, and buy them in huge quantities.
They also don't pay any PRS or PPL licences (hence why there's never any live or even background music), which shaves a huge chunk off the running costs. |

Treat the staff with respect. Not going against government advice. Paying his staff properly. Furlough them instead of sacking them and pay the 20%. Theres plenty he could have done but went down the profit before staff route. It won't make any difference but I'll never be back in one or a sports direct or book with virgin again. |

Think their breakfasts are good go to our local one every Monday with a friend when the world is normal.
Selection of beers very good, food good for the money and generally good prices. I don’t know the owner so won’t comment on him personally also don’t know the owner personally of my local butchers or bakers they may also be horrible people doesn’t stop he buying stuff in there |

I have been to literally 100s of Wetherspoon pubs, while some Of the older ones are a bit tired looking with not very nice clientele, the ones which are under 6 years old or so especially, are very very clean with trendy decor, on the whole they are great value for money. |
