Does the Roger Mc Gough need medicinal compound?

Roger has just updated a poem by Jo Parfit, from 1986. It's called: Not the time for adultery.

He's obviously got too much time on his hands

He and his two partners in crime (The Scaffold): John Gorman and Mike McGear, aka Peter Michael McCartney (brother of a Scouse bassist called Paul); once did a certain Lily the Pink in 1968/9.

If that doesn't sound like a name from this site...

Not the Time for Adultery

This is not the time for adultery.

Thunder rumbles through the streets

the storm will not impress your lover.

Not so much the soggy anorak

and the dripping umbrella

but your flouting of the rules.

Have you not listened to the radio?

Read the news? Has the Prime Minister

Do Health & Safety restrictions not apply

to serial adulterers? Get a grip.

Go home and self-isolate.

Resort to self-abuse for all our sakes.

And when the time comes and it’s over,

(Not soon enough I imagine

for pick-pockets, pole-dancers,

parking wardens, drug dealers

and the like. Not to mention nurses,

doctors, health care workers, kids,

can you pick up the phone.
