Some drugs... Would rather they be taxed and quality controlled.
Would cut down on crime and probably reduce knife crime to almost zero.
Not a drug user... Cant see the point to be honest but do feel that there is a link between crime and drug use |

I agree the link is undeniable. But I worry that it wouldn’t reduce knife crime to that level if there wasn’t a recognition of the link in the first place, and an attempt to find alternative ways to get them into work or something productive.
But it would reduce it for sure. |

Slightly off topic but in my opinion, knife crime is also very much a symptom of the contempt towards and lack of opportunity for many in younger generations. The two go hand it hand as many are driven in to drug crime through having no other way to make any decent amount of money and are very much treated as sum from a young age by society anyway. I had a large council estate in the catchment area of my high school. I've witnessed it first hand. Disadvantaged kids with little prospects being preyed on by criminals by giving them the hope of a route out of poverty. |

Agree with most suggestions so far.
Assisted suicide.
Brothels and sex work.
Medicinal cannabis (or just fully legalise it).
Higher speed limits in open areas & motorways.
Lower age of consent where there is a close in age restriction like several European countries.

It technically is. We just have 5 very outdated exemptions that a medical professional is allowed to break the law under. And you need two doctors to agree that your reasons are sufficient to meet that exemption. |

It was illegal in ROI until 2018 and in Northern Ireland until 2019. Northern Ireland repealed parts of the offences against the person act relating to abortion last year that the rest of the UK are still subject to. So crazily, northern Ireland now has more liberal abortion laws than the rest of the UK. |

Its the law. It's got nothing to do with who's providing it. |

You seem to know more than most . I just think it's mental that they've gone from it being totally illegal to having more progressive laws than we do. Madness. |

I really don’t! It was just in my head. I must have heard something at some point lol. Yes it does seem a bit mad. It’s a difficult one. I’ve never been anti abortion but it shouldn’t be used as a contraceptive and I’m not sure about the timescales where it’s still allowed etc but that’s a whole different topic! x |

Haha I didn't mean it in any bad way. Just most people I speak to about it aren't even aware it was illegal in Ireland until recently. |

I agree.
Growing up in London it’s hard even seeing friends get caught up in the wrong things. |

Is sex work illegal?
My understanding was that in the UK most forms of sex work are legal and although many aren’t, like street based work, many police services are targeting kerb krawlers more? I don’t know though and would love more info |

Thank you. And aren’t there nuances surrounding prostitution? So you can’t solicit sex in public which makes street based prostitution criminalised or am I wrong? |

Again, like with abortion it's more complicated than simply illegal vs not legal. The things I've listed are things I believe should be fully decriminilised. |

Wow. Amazing discussion folks.
Glad to see we are together in our thinking to get certain
RIGHT ( currently illegal) activities legalised.
Also learned a few things about abortion laws too.
