I would generally say something my Grandma used to say; “what’s for you, won’t go by you”. This has been true as some life goals have taken a while for me to achieve vs my peers.
We had fab friends gave us a wee plaque for our housewarming and I’ve tried to live by it;

I’m like that when out for a meal, or at the cinema; yes there are staff who generally clear up, but if it was clean when you arrived, just take your rubbish with you. Clearing up a cinema screen after 600 folk have been in it is not fun, trust me!  (esp when you get those who would be wanking off in the back and you find used condoms  )

I gave my former work 10 years of loyalty and hardly got recognition and the same with an ex; on/off 10 years of loyalty in the hope that he’d change from being tied to his mothers apron strings, but wasn’t.
Thankfully, happier now with Ian, so lucky miss.

Nice - leave a log as in plant a tree ? I planted a cherry tree 15 years ago , I occasionally go and see it , the fuckers who have it now don’t deserve it or appreciate it. Keep meaning to plant another but never know where we will be in 2-3 years
