I'm not the type of person to cry at tv programs but my god it really is an emotional rollercoaster, superb work again by Gervais who has to be one of the best writers around at the moment the way he can get you pissing your sides with laughter one minute and the next has you on the verge of tears is superb. |

The end of Extras when he had a breakdown ranting in the Big Brother house and realised what mattered the most was his friendship. This kills me each time....

I might give it a whirl based on the recommendation here but having seen The Office, Extras and one of his stage shows, I can't say I've ever really laughed at anything Ricky Gervais has done. He's never struck me as a genius. |

This is nothing like I have ever seen him do before it's a hard hitting comedy, it's dark in places and light in others. |

Can’t believe I’m saying this but this series is ‘beautiful’
Pulls you in. The way Ricky plays the character is just brilliant.
I’ve been a big fan of Ricky since The Office, love his stand up. But this shows what a talent he is. Writing and acting.

It's tragic but in a strange way I find it's message kind of hopeful. That no matter how dark things get he finds a way to carry on. He finds purpose in doing things for others and there's so many ways the world wouldn't have been as good if he had done the unthinkable because of situations or people meeting that he has facilitated. He just needs time to start living for himself again but he's getting there. |

Loved the first season ..genius writing by him I know he’s like marmite you either love him or hate him but I’ve loved everything he has ever done...Heard great things about the 2nd season and I can imagine how emotional it is so I’m putting off watching it till I’m in a better mindset ..looking forward to watching it tho... |

I (her) cry at most things on tv or film and usually avoid such programmes but this is so brilliantly written and Ricky Gervais acts the part with so much passion that I was hooked.
Yes I cried constantly when I wasn't pissing myself laughing and I loved every moment of it.
If like me you too will feel his pain and his love. Please don't be put off it is truly wonderful and I cant wait for season 3 |

I’m not a fan of his normally, but it’s genius. Binged series 1 on Friday night, half way through series 2 now. And I hear there is to be a third series, even better!
