If it’s anything like how supermarkets have been operating where they let in say the first 10 - 15 people in then it’s one person out another person in then they will need to employ a couple of security guards to make sure it works effectively |

I’m pleased. I am running out of bribery options for the children. I can add this to the “do as you’re fucking told or you won’t get xxx” list.
*disclaimer. I don’t use bad language in front of the kids. |

"In the kitchens the workers are very close together cannot be right" Hopefully they'll work around that, but given the fact they're only doing Drive-Thru and Home Delivery services, they're possibly not going to have such intensive food preparation requirements compared to a full sit down service with walk-in customers.

I'm not sure what will cause more harm to the public health and longevity
Mac ds opening and people making extra "essential " journey s and risking extra cov-sars2 transmissions
Or eating what they sell |

Indifferent food wise, very rarely order anything from there.
Work wise, as long as they have a safe working practice then it’s fair enough for them to be open.

"Shame
The streets have been much cleaner without the fast food outlets."
I noticed this last time I took myself out for a spin in the wheelchair. Normally, I have to stop regularly to pick rubbish out of the front castors (small, hard wheels). I noticed a distinct lack of litter last time. More dog shit though. People forget that wheelchairs are hand operated. If it's on the floor, it gets on my hands (and probably clothes too). |

If boycotted it for over 10 years for ethical and environmental reasons, other than for an emergency McWee.
I've enjoyed the fact that there is no litter that scruffy gits have chucked out of car windows too.
I couldn't care if it never opens again. |

About bloody time food places opened back up, been going hungry at work because I cant stand sandwiches that have been sat in my hot van half the day, or garage food for that matter. Found a cafe today in wakey that's still open so that's my dinners sorted for fridays. |

It doesn’t quite fit in with essential journeys only though does it?
If you’re already out (work) and call to the drive thru that’s one thing but I suspect the roads will become busier, the queue will be long and the rubbish will be everywhere and the vast majority won’t be essential journeys.
As far as I’m aware restrictions have not been relaxed so people shouldn’t (generally) be going. |

"Not my thing but did read 3 hour queues in France..so you best take games to entertain little ones whilst waiting..a lot of games "
I saw this, deliveroo will be very busy when it does open, think I will wait a week for the initial rush to go then brave the queues while hoping small people don't find out it's open |

I'd be happier, not for the food mind but the toilets. I deliver meds to care homes and since the lockdown there's hardly anywhere to go. The homes don't let you in at the moment understandably. |

It makes me laugh that one minute the government are talking about restaurants being closed and then McDonald's and KFC open?
Without meaning to be too judgemental it seems to be pandering to a certain demographic of society. |

Unfortunately sit down restaurants and cafes will be the last to open, our work olan estimate is Sept to Oct hopefully |

We only ever go to McDonald's on the way home from a club... when everything else is shut. We'd love to be doing that though.

I'm looking forward to it, mainly because it gives my teenage daughter a little bit of hope that things are getting back to some sort of normal! Her and a lot of other young people tend to hang out there.
I quite like the occassional burger to. |

And this is the problem. You might as well bin off social distancing as a complete farce if the first relaxation is opening McDonald's so teenagers have somewhere to hang out.

I'll agree that people can survive without McDonald's, but take into context just how many people they employ nationwide. |

Bugger.
Meant to post the link to their Twitter page not that one. Doh!
The story broke in the irish farmers journal but McDonlads have simply said 'we'll update everyone as soon as we have plans to reopen'.
No confirmed timeline as yet.

Not really bothered , I haven't missed it. I do like a cheeky big Mac every so often though.
So many snobby comments about it here though. Marco Pierre white and Heston Blumenthal have both admitted a big Mac tastes good. |

Fair enough. I think some of the other reopenings makes the possibility of McDonald's reopening more plausible. |

But that argument goes for many industries
Primark for example
People across the world will be dieing
I'm afraid it's just not joined up thinking
Personality I have no issue with permitting such non essential journeys
However
Stay home
Only go out rarely for essential
Save the NHS
Is the mantra
I dont agree I think our national parks should be open I think I should go surfing
But apparently not
So it's ok to encourage 100s of cars to one tiny spot
But not to drive 50 miles to a remote climbing crag
Also iv closed my doors to my business .even though I'm permitted to be open for essential the core of my business is borderline and thus
Stay home dont go out unless essential
Means I'm better closing and furlough
Think of all my suppliers
Point is it's just messy

I'm not sure it's necessarily helpful to treat "certain demographics" like naughty children. |

They're saying they have plans. So something is in the works, perhaps.
It says little, but it might be consistent with an early May opening |

We do that regularly with our children, thanks. My daughter in particular is really struggling at the moment not seeing her friends etc and it's little things that help her. A 14 year olds world is very different to yours or mine. |

I mean in general not your family specifically, and yes, I rem_mber being a teenager.
I don't think McDonald's or any other food place should be part of morale or mental health management. Particularly where it has a potential to spread disease beyond the potential benefit |
