Think it will be a very long queue. Heard it will only be the drive thru that is opening.

If it’s anything like how supermarkets have been operating where they let in say the first 10 - 15 people in then it’s one person out another person in then they will need to employ a couple of security guards to make sure it works effectively

Hopefully they'll work around that, but given the fact they're only doing Drive-Thru and Home Delivery services, they're possibly not going to have such intensive food preparation requirements compared to a full sit down service with walk-in customers.

Work wise, as long as they have a safe working practice then it’s fair enough for them to be open.

"Shame

I noticed this last time I took myself out for a spin in the wheelchair. Normally, I have to stop regularly to pick rubbish out of the front castors (small, hard wheels). I noticed a distinct lack of litter last time. More dog shit though. People forget that wheelchairs are hand operated. If it's on the floor, it gets on my hands (and probably clothes too).

It doesn’t quite fit in with essential journeys only though does it?

If you’re already out (work) and call to the drive thru that’s one thing but I suspect the roads will become busier, the queue will be long and the rubbish will be everywhere and the vast majority won’t be essential journeys.

As far as I’m aware restrictions have not been relaxed so people shouldn’t (generally) be going.

And this is the problem. You might as well bin off social distancing as a complete farce if the first relaxation is opening McDonald's so teenagers have somewhere to hang out.

But that argument goes for many industries

Primark for example

People across the world will be dieing

I'm afraid it's just not joined up thinking

Personality I have no issue with permitting such non essential journeys

However

Stay home

Only go out rarely for essential

Save the NHS

Is the mantra

I dont agree I think our national parks should be open I think I should go surfing

But apparently not

So it's ok to encourage 100s of cars to one tiny spot

But not to drive 50 miles to a remote climbing crag

Also iv closed my doors to my business .even though I'm permitted to be open for essential the core of my business is borderline and thus

Stay home dont go out unless essential

Means I'm better closing and furlough

Think of all my suppliers

Point is it's just messy

Well, our notifications are going wild tonight – we miss you too. We promise we will update you here as soon as we have confirmed our plans. Stay safe, stay at home and we will see you soon.

So they’re not opening. That’ll please those who’ve been a bit sniffy on this thread!

If they've been sniffy should they self isolate?

They're saying they have plans. So something is in the works, perhaps.

It says little, but it might be consistent with an early May opening

Northampton Somewhere

"I'm looking forward to it, mainly because it gives my teenage daughter a little bit of hope that things are getting back to some sort of normal! Her and a lot of other young people tend to hang out there.

I quite like the occassional burger to.

And this is the problem. You might as well bin off social distancing as a complete farce if the first relaxation is opening McDonald's so teenagers have somewhere to hang out.

I meant it gives them hope that things will return to normal at some point!! Even if it is just the bloody drive through for now.

Or we could explain what's going on?"

We do that regularly with our children, thanks. My daughter in particular is really struggling at the moment not seeing her friends etc and it's little things that help her. A 14 year olds world is very different to yours or mine.

I mean in general not your family specifically, and yes, I rem_mber being a teenager.

I don't think McDonald's or any other food place should be part of morale or mental health management. Particularly where it has a potential to spread disease beyond the potential benefit

MK

Will wait one week before visiting, avoid all the queue's. Not bothered when the other fast food and restaurants open as never visit them.
