Please can someone recommend a bloody good film.
Genre's
Sci-Fi
Action
Thriller
Nothing wishy-washy rom com.
I've seen pretty much most things so looking for something a bit left field and underated.
Failing that a decent series.

Unbroken - brilliant war film to do with Japanese prison camps.
Fury - if you havent seen already, Brad Pitt war film
Man on a ledge
TV - bodyguard (BBC) or peaky blinders but that's probably too obvious |

"The Raid 1 and 2. Both on Netflix
Best actions films ever made"
Judge dredd (not the sly Stallone original), which is very similar to Raid and I think still on netflix
It's only 90 minutes long too |

"KES........Yorkshire classic xx"
Yes it is but you and me both are missing the OP's preferred genre although Dark Star is Sci Fi and I guess In Bruges could be described as a thriller, KES is a bit Billy Elliot without the music.
Whistle down the wind is similar |

"mad max fury road"
If you can find it anywhere, fury road chrome edition. The director re-coloured it (well really de-coloured it) into black and silver (yup, silver, not white), apparently wanted to make it like that originally. Sounds stupid, but it looks absolutely fantastic! |

"Even if you've seen them already, Primal Fear and Internal Affairs are both getting repeats on Amazon/Netflix (whatever) just now.
Both worth a go - though the former is better than the latter."
I’ve read Primal Fear, great book I’ll have to check out the movie |

If you don’t mind subtitles
The Lives of Others - German movie - 1983 East Berlin, dedicated Stasi officer Gerd Wiesler, doubting that a famous playwright is loyal to the Communist Party, receives approval to spy on the man and his actress-lover Christa-Maria. Wiesler becomes unexpectedly sympathetic to the couple, then faces conflicting loyalties when his superior takes a liking to Christa-Maria and orders Wiesler to get the playwright out of the way
Tell No one - French movie - Margot was murdered by a serial killer eight years ago, and her husband, Alexandre, continues to mourn her death. One day, the police discover two dead bodies near Alexandre's home, along with a cache of evidence implicating him in the crime. On the same day, Alexandre receives an email with a video showing his wife alive and well, along with a simple message: "Tell no one." With the police breathing down his neck, Alexandre goes on the run. |

Not sure how it would compare to the book but it was Ed Norton's debut and he was utterly brilliant. |
