Recorded delivery parcel gone AWOL.

I posted a parcel recorded delivery, something that sold on EBay, but the recipient says it hasn’t arrived, although the tracking says it’s been delivered & shows a signature.
Now I know in times like this the postie is signing so there’s no contact, so what can I do if they say they haven’t received it?

Contact royal mail. I had an item (expensive) signed for once by a postman that he left outside the house which went missing.
I got a refund and they had to compensate the seller.

This sounds similar to a scam that's becoming more common on Ebay - buyer claims not to have received the item, Ebay refunds it and charges the seller. It's taking advantage of the fact that Ebay ALWAYS sides with the buyer in disputes. |

I recieve a lot from Royal Mail and alot of the posties are taking photos of the parcel on the doorstep with the recipient stood by it. Worth checking if they did it, but the fact that they said it hasn't arrived suggests not xx |

When our house was broken into in Nov_mber the burglar signed for a parcel before he smashed in my kitchen window.
The police caught him thanks to neighbours CCTV.
Got almost everything back apart from the 2 items.
Royal mail offered no assistance and the company I bought my items from weren't interested either.

I've had 3 disputes as a seller and they've found in my favour every time. |

Yes agreed EBay always side with the buyer, but the buyer seems very trustworthy, I have no reason to doubt them. They did receive some post this morning & saw the postie leaving, I haven’t established if the signature happened at the same time, because if it didn’t, then they delivered to the wrong address. |

This could happen to any buyer or seller that uses RM or a courier, this is not a problem unique to EBay.
Good news for me in that their postie turned up with the parcel today, he signed for it yesterday but forgot to deliver it. |

That wasn't my experience at all.
I had a parcel "delivered" which never arrived, despite all the tracking and signature saying it had been.
I didn't receive my purchase or get a refund from the seller or eBay. |

Good luck getting a refund from eBay and royal mail as tracked and signed.
eBay will say delivered if a case is opened and will close in favour of seller.
Royal mail will argue the claim and say delivered.
If it was not signed eBay would just refund.
I work for a large company who sends alot of parcels, I know how these cases work. eBay is fraud for sellers, costs us thousands a month in lost money, everyone clicks does not work or defective for free returns or posts a empty box. eBay couldn't care less. Even brand new items they don't want send it back, eBay don't care. There is no protection for sellers. Having to pay postage both ways and loss of the goods value. |

Contact your local delivery office first, wherever that parcel was scanned will show up on a GPS map to within a few feet. It will then show if it was at the wrong house. Your local depot can investigate, then if not happy put a complaint in. Let them try and find out what happened first. Could be a genuine mistake by a new m_mber of staff. |
