"Does anyone remember this , we were explaining to our kids and they are laughing. In the mid 1980s BT made a feature to chat to random local people for 50p a minute or something on a house phone. Where we lived it was a huge thing teen hook up line for the other main school and lots of drug dealers and pervs, parents went nuts at the huge phone bills and locked phones and BT quickly closed it down !" I remember party chat lines so well  . I'm sure my parents remember the surprise phone bills too   | |||
