Was a bit of a shock to hear our low level oil company was a key position however through loads of grumbling and spitting dummies out the pram we’re still here.

Who else is still working away in the workplace?

Who gets to work from home?

I had just moved roles at the beginning of April so it has been proper busy working remotely trying to learn new role and still deliver on tasks

For me as I am new to the role I am putting more hours just to get through the week

I’m a superintendent therapeutic radiographer at City Hospital in Nottingham. No change at all, apart from the PPE we were 3 and a half weeks into it. I was 35-40 a day without PPE.

I fucking hate the PPE. Hot, sweaty, restrictive, we don’t really know how to do it properly. It’s shite.

The PPE I can understand as a necessary evil, in my place there’s nothing worse than being wrapped up in anti flame jackets while welding in 20° weather

So much safer, it was a real concern and pretty scary if you stopped to think about it. I just got on with it, tried not to touch anything and keep my distance.

I can only imagine how scary it is for those working with the public and obviously on the front line...massive respect to them.

So You must feel safer not having to make that trip?

So much safer, it was a real concern and pretty scary if you stopped to think about it. I just got on with it, tried not to touch anything and keep my distance.

I can only imagine how scary it is for those working with the public and obviously on the front line...massive respect to them."

Total respect to the drivers for sure, I’d be driving in a hazmat suit in that position, or a dinosaur costume

Just had 2 weeks “off” as it was Easter holidays. I am now working from home but trying to communicate with teenagers with disabilities and behavioural issues from home is proving a challenge. I also signed up to NHS volunteer response team so busy!

"I'm not working during april, im on furlough leave but i was still working when it all kicked off and i will be working (in my workplace) in may. I wont be able to keep my distance either due to the nature of my job. Scares me !

It’s something that actually gave me my first panic attack I’ve ever had to the extent I made myself quite ill for a week but all you can do is keep yourself as safe as you can I guess, thankfully being the works grumpy prick I’m quite good at telling people to back the fu€k up

Lol i cant do that as im a nursery nurse

yeah best not take that approach so you’ll be in early getting all the kiddies temperatures taken then "

We take their temps if they seem ill, out of sorts, grumpy or feel hot. My last working day there i had to send 2 children home due to high temps.

"Glad to be still working "

Me too.

Far from ideal set up at home though and the workload is really random. Seems to be all or nothing.

Last week was manic and this morning was busy... but this afternoon looks like it's going to be fairly quiet.

Thankfully I do get the opportunity to get out and about occasionally for work, as well as my allowed daily exercise.

I’ve just cut all the wood for the dining table and the resin arrived on Friday so that’s the next project after the wall papering, but I’m trying to think of more projects to do because this isn’t going to let up anytime soon

I’ve been furloughed as my industry has been hit hard by this. Going to be off work for a while on a significantly reduced income. Then hoping things get better once everything opens up again. But expecting redundancies to be doing the rounds. Hoping it doesn’t reach me. It did during the last recession and it turned my life upside down. Really don’t want that to happen again!!!

I Shouldn’t be as concerned by the word evidence as I am, call it a misspent childhood "

I'm still working full time from home, grateful I'm still on full pay. I'll be looking to make this at least a part time arrangement when things go back to normal, I'm not missing my awful commute one bit and saving a fortune in fuel!

"I'm still working been in everyday still with this I'm a manager of a hotel

It can’t be very busy, surely?

I stayed in my usual “work” hotel just the week before lockdown and it was like The Overlook from The Shining

the council have done a deal with the owner for 12 week's for the homeless

Have your hotels been drafted into housing the key staff members? I know a few up here who have been"

The first 2 weeks it was just for keyworks but now the council are using it for the homeless

"I’ve been furloughed as my industry has been hit hard by this. Going to be off work for a while on a significantly reduced income. Then hoping things get better once everything opens up again. But expecting redundancies to be doing the rounds. Hoping it doesn’t reach me. It did during the last recession and it turned my life upside down. Really don’t want that to happen again!!!

Thoughts are with you man, our household money comes from the same company so I really hope we don’t end up in that situation "

It’s tricky. Fingers crossed it all ends up ok and we all get out of this with our health first and then financially stable afterwards. Hopefully it won’t take a few years to recover but I fear it could take a few.

Fingers crossed things are good for you too and everyone reading this

Working with young people with autism in a residential and educational setting. Whilst probably some of the best isolated people in the country, lockdown has played havoc with their routines and increased their anxieties and made things very stressful indeed.

That has to be really hard for them but I’m glad to hear they’re still a priority, a meet of mine is in a very similar position but she has to take them out in her car which I don’t think she’s keen on

I’m still going to work in the office.

The buses are on time and practically empty.

It’s been great

Work is very busy though because they’ve shut some offices which means other offices are dealing with the work the shut offices would normally deal with.

Yep still working. Don't think it will ever stop for hgv drivers but still I feel sorry for the people that have to stay in all the time. Keep safe everyone

We’ve had empty offices reopened to split our staff up a bit more

never heard someone so happy about a bus but I don’t blame you

I temporarily closed my business March 14th and haven't worked since then. Unfortunately what I do can't be done from home.

Yeah we’ve still got trucks in and out, couldn’t help but feel sorry for some of the guys but I guess your cab is your own space so you’ll be comfy enough

Stay safe bud

Somewhere in Co. Down

I'm still working as a care assistant. It is a worry but we are clear of covid so far and doing our best to keep it that way. Also some of the residents can't understand why family aren't visiting but we are skyping etc when we can but they still miss family especially the ones with dementia and special needs but we need to keep lockdown in place to keep them safe as we can. I'm on a week's holiday now so am enjoying being at home and relaxing for the week.
