Why are smokers miserable as sin?
Jump to: Newest in thread
the bloke over the road nips out for a fag at his front door - miserable as sin
the lunch time puffers in their shelter - miserable as sin
the bloke having a cheeky one taking the dog for a walk - miserable as sin
the person asking for 20 Benson at the garage kiosk - miserable as sin
So my question is does smoking make you miserable or are you miserable cause you smoke?

I smoked for 16 years and and confirm that yes, smoking is miserable. There is nothing positive about it.
Costs a fortune, taste wretched, smells revolting. There is nothing to smile about when smoking |

Has to be a up north thing, down south its happy fag break! Escaping the kids by locking ones self outside, chatting to the neighbours, socializing at work in the smoking area, some of the funniest pub nights are in the smoking area..... |

When the old Kestrels (an adults only club) was open, loads used to congregate in the smoker’s shelter because everyone there was very friendly and had a good laugh with each other |

It's not the smoking.
They all saw your handsome penis and felt miserable about their own average penises. |

I remember them days
People who take up hobbies become boring and lose the art of talking about anything else ... not smokers are miserable .. I’m grumpy but not miserable ... just off for a fag |

Many interesting perspectives here.
I occasionally smoke. A packet every 2-3 months and when I do smoke the 20 cigs probably last between 5-7 days.
I only smoke when I am happy, when I feel good or if I’m with good company. For me a very lovely part of the day is driving with the sun shining bright, the wind on my face, an uplifting folk tune and a B&H Dual.
However I do understand what the OP means. There maybe a correlation between smokers and being miserable. Who knows! |

I started smoking again after giving up for 8 years because I used to go outside with the smokers. They are so much more fun than the non smoking whining bitches that stayed inside on breaks!! They literally drove me to smoking.
Going outside with the smokers at the pub is always better than staying inside with the miserable ones. You come back inside and they're just sitting there in silence |

The last time I was in the UK I went into a pub (I'm a non-smoker) - inside it stank of disinfectant, stale beer and sour wine and was almost silent, even though there were quite a few customers . I went outside into the "fresh" air with the smokers, and what a happy-go-lucky lot they were in comparison. I think I chatted to more people outside smoking than I ever have in any other British pub |

It does appear that less smokers are dying of covid 19. We went to Maccu Pichu & due to its altitude people have to acclimatise & buy oxygen cans. We are both smokers and didn’t need to. Our guide told us that as smokers are used to having less oxygen in their lungs they acclimatised easier. So that’s 1 positive for smokers. |

Am I the only happy smoker in the world of fab? Surely not!
I enjoy smoking, I know it’ll be the death of me some day but hey at least I’ll be sure of how I go |
