My aloe vera plant is not happy. Its in the bathroom on the window sill.

Any tips or advice on keeping it thriving?

How often do you water it and does it have room in its pot or is the pot full

I water it once a week and the pot could be bigger...

Try turning it around, if it's unhappy it's likely that you've got it looking at the wall/window and can't see you naked when you shower

Easily rectified

Sorry, only grow fruit and vegetables on here. But, I was thinking of growing some plants to make the allotment look nice - plans on hold at the moment.

You're over watering it. Wait until its dried right out. I rarely water mine. They like being treated badly

Really? Ok. You’d think keeping a simple house plant alive would be easy

Thanks for all the replies so far

It's almost impossible to kill aloe Vera. I had one in the greenhouse all winter, it was cold, dry and neglected. I watered it when I found it and it's sprung back to life.

Don’t bother with misting if it’s in the bathroom. It’s usually humid enough, but yes you are over watering. Wait until the compost has gone very dry before watering

Try giving it a change of scene. Put it on a bright warm window ledge for a while and follow the other advice of restricting watering and replanting in a bigger pot? Good luck!

Negligence is best. I seldom water mine at all and it’s been thriving as long as I’ve had it.
