I use it as term of endearment, not sure if because I'm Scottish. A lot of Australians seem to use it in same way. Or if I'm calling a person a c*nt in a harsh way, try to call them a C U Mext Tuesday.

I think the other thing OP is that if you don't feel comfortable with it then you certainly shouldn't feel like you have to say it.
