There used to be so many exciting films on over Easter.
Now, there’s repeats of programmes on ITV and general garbage.
I recall fondly settling down to the Easter film - am I the only one ?? |

"I used to love to watch a biblical epic at Easter, some of them went on for ages.
The Robert Powell Jesus of Nazareth is on Sky Arts later, if anyone is interested."
That was my late mums favourite |

"That is because it used to take about 4 years for a movie to be shown on the telly.
"
I was explaining this to my daughter ... I remember being so excited that Star Wars was going to be on tv

Not at all. I think the Easter weekend was quite sacred in that no shops were open so all you had was TV. I used to enjoy all the biblical films when I was a kid. |

I'd go and visit my family. My grandparents usually had some weird experiment going, things they weren't sure would work but wanted to try out on all the grandkids at once. Piñatas I remember from being about ten, they were halted until my brother could be trusted with big smacky sticks
Big icing sugar cream buns that left a sticky mess all over your face, really retro decorated cupcakes that my grandfather would sneak onto your plate while you weren't looking. Trampoline overlooking the ocean. |

I genuinely would not know
Easter has always meant time off
Thus from school it meant playing in the woods and water
At work it's meant going somewhere with sea or mountains and avoiding people
Now it means
Making cake climbing trees and
FUCKING PLANKING
Gosh Do people go to TV for their film entertainment still

I remember when I was a kid I seen this Disney movie over Easter that I really liked - (Song of the South )
I always fondly remembered it, but had never seen or heard of it again until recently when Disney+ started up. Turns out it was so racist it's been blocked in every country since the late 80s. Somehow got shown on Irish telly in the 90s :-/ |
