..just watching DIY SOS and a man who's house is being re built started to cry as he was supposed to be the one to look after his family, never expected his family to look after him.
I started to cry because he was crying. Most times i see a man cry i too am reduced to tears..

There is nothing wrong with a man having a little cry
Ive seen Rob cry and it makes me love him more as its not something that men will do in front of other people very often, they're meant to be men and show no emotions
I have only seen my Dad cry twice in my life and each time it broke my heart as its not something im used to
Brings tears to my eyes thinking about it |

Haven't cried since my dog died in 2001
Before that it was 1999 when Dad died and 2000 when Mom died.
Our son is moving to Australia next month and you can guarantee I'll be blubbing at the airport |

i dont like it when men cry, like the ones you see on deal or no deal, unless its my son or hubby that is. i can understand it if they cry watching a sad film though. |

im all for a man who is comfortable with crying. Its a natural release of emotion and i know i feel good after a good sob.
think times have progressed and men are no longer seen as the tough guys who must be emotionally strong |

nothing wrong with a cry when the time is right, ive found ive cried more since my Mum died.
I tried to be brave and not cry at her funeral, but couldnt hold them back, thats when the vicar said to me, "just remember God gave us tears so we can cry". |

"There's no shame in it..."
Agree...I cry a lot, normally at other peoples situations. I cry when a sad situation touches me. I dont think its a weakness, it doesn't bother me in the least, why should it? Actually its quite a nice feeling.
Does it make me an emotional wreck and unstable?, I dont think so, I am quite strong willed and one of my very few good points is that I can remain very calm in a crisis and I dont panic easy.
So I dont think crying is an indication of a persons mental capacity and a measure of how they could cope.
Seeing a bloke cry for me is a very emotional thing on its own...I dont like seeing men cry because it normally takes something very bad to make the average guy cry..which, for me, makes it all the worse.
That said, I do tend to bury my head in the sand when it comes to bad news stories, I simple wont look at them..I hate hearing of kids being killed, or families wiped out in accidents, maybe thats a cowards approach, but I see it as protecting my feelings.

I think it depends on the situation and the man.
My ex-husband cried twice in front of me: when we turned off the life support for our son and he held him as he breathed his last, and the day I left him. Both times broke my heart but I couldn't cry with him.
My dad cried at my mums funeral and I wanted to push him into the grave as he made her life a misery so his tears meant nothing to me. |

Had wet eyes last night watching 24hr A & E. when the little girl was talking to her dad who was in a coma after falling of scaffolding on his head. Those real life moments like that get me every time . |

Not being the hardman or anything here but i find it hard to cry , even at funerals or stuff like that . I tend to get angry instead . Last time i remember crying was when one of my best mates died and thats because i looked at his kids and could see him sounds harsh but i was pised off he was dead . Anyway dont have anything against guys crying dont see the problem with it . |

I'm not one for crying in general well not proper sobing, but since I became a dad I find anything to do with kids moves me to have a tear in my eye, like the post on this thread about turning her sons life support off made me well up a bit, |

No not really. I'm not the sort to punch walls either though. I don't really suffer from emotions in general. I don't get uncontrollably happy or sad. It takes rather a lot to displace me from neutral actually. Haven't yet found a limit to my control of my emotions. |
