The sky has been such a beautiful clear blue for the last three days.. is it because most jets are grounded?

Nope, cause theres plenty of air traffic been going over us.....and nope, we're not near a base or airfield or suchlike

It's because of the high pressure system sitting over much of the UK, same reason it's warm and very dry (note this may not apply in Scotland
