Now, as a old fart, these days should be far behind me - but they're not. They're getting heavier and so much more painful. And, just now, I cant even get out to get anything so, ladies, anyone have any none medicinal tricks. This is how bad - I usually take 3 mfenamic acid tablets 3 times a day - to take the edge (only) off!!! |

Years ago my pe teacher told me to sit on the floor legs out straight and bend forward from the waist. I did try it and it worked. Hot water bottle, sips of gin or scotch, a gentle walk or I've been told an orgasm .
Hope it passes soon |

I just use the old hot water bottle and curl up in a ball. I'm a bit younger than you, but mine are going totally haywire too. Super light, super heavy, painful, irregular etc. Hope you find relief soon |

Mine were unbearable. I went on the mini pill 2 years ago and haven’t had one since. I’m 48 and I smoke. It’s safe as it’s not a combined pill x |

My partner was pretty much the same as Nora; was painful till she went on the pill and then it was fine. She was in her 40s too. Hope it works out for you |

Ive always got my big supply of mefanamic acid tablets ready, I remember years ago they seemed alot stronger and took all the pain away now not so much. Ive been told its down to polycystic ovaries and had 2 operations to remove the large cysts, that helped.
My cousin swears by evening primrose, she takes them daily x |

I read somewhere that clitoral stimulation is a natural painkiller as it releases endorphins (some women use it in child birth) and the contractions when you orgasm cause you to lose resulting in a shorter period..... |

I used to use a heat pack/hot water bottle, and curl over an exercise ball or lay in bed with a pillow between my legs to even the hips, weird I know but it helped the abdominal pain. Hope you get some relief soon. Xx |

I know how you feel OP
I take paracetamol with codeine that usually does the trick.
But failing that a hot water bottle and some gentle exercise.
I know you don't want to exercise - but trust me it helps.
Or get in a really hot bath x |

I feel your pain! The only time I've not suffered since I was 11, was when I was pregnant!
Hot water bottle, pain relief for now but please try the mini pill or the mirena coil. Neither worked for me but that's not the case for everyone.
Sounds weird but I found that bascopan works!! I have diagnosed IBS and found out by accident but it does kind of make sense.
Chances are that you cant get your regular meds because they thin the blood and obviously the nhs is stretched enough at the present time, so they're restricting certain types of medication. |

I had Mirena coil fitted and went from pain and floods to practically nothing, wish I had done it years ago.
Hot water bottle or those wheat sacs you put in microwave.
Miserable, I do sympathise
Take care

I (her) had polycystic ovary syndrome and thankfully had a hysterectomy almost 5 years ago.... best thing that happened for me.
My periods were irregular but extremely painful and extremely heavy. I often wasn't able to get out of bed or if I could it would just be to lay down somewhere else such as sofa.
A hot water bottle eased it, and also putting a pillow between my knees if laying on my side, it lifts the hip and eases the strain on the pelvic muscles.
I feel so sorry for anyone going through this pain, it's not very pleasant at all. I hope it passes soon for you OP. X |

Another PCOS sufferer here. I'm on prescribed painkillers during it but try and refrain from taking them - orgasms do help take the edge off slightly. Yoga helps as well, as does eating bananas and chocolate. Buscopan is something that was suggested to me recently and it helps a lot. I hope you're doing a bit better OP, x |

I've suffered like this since I was 13 so I really do understand. I find hot water bottles or pads the best thing... but also try to take my pain killers staggered.. ie take them every 4 hours but take one lot at 7.. the 2nd at 9... ( different ones) I'm on the mini pill to supposedly lighten them... they do a bit but not a lot

Totally natural and works. Google it to gather information and take from there. I get mine from Amazon, company called Lucy bee |
