I wonder what exactly they're looking for in intelligence.

Someone who was educated in Oxford University or what?

Central

The IQ system was largely debunked, with the initial evidence to support it having been falsified.

Intelligence is a complex creature, like human personality. Just as with physical attraction, what we find attractive in another's intelligence is subjective, so let others decide what they are looking for and how they'll find it.

Acquired knowledge isn't intelligence, though how we may process and apply it could be a facet of it. Where systems are gamed, via social connections, background, pedigree etc, the educational attendance is reflective of those random chances, outside of the possible inherent aptitudes of people.

Wisdom and compassion are often more important imo

Nor do I and I'm too scared to check in case the results come back as "dumb as a welly boot".

I'll just knowingly nod and keep quiet.

It's very dangerous for those that put up stuff like that in a sense as they just might meet an intelligent person who just might think that the person who looked for the intelligent person is actually thick in lots of ways ...be careful what you wish for ..

I don’t think it’s necessarily about intelligence but the ability to hold a decent conversation before it all descends into debauchery is important to us

They just mean they want someone on a similar wavelength. According to many forum contributors they need a "connection" to my mind that's more easy to obtain with someone you can communicate with as an equal. I think the more descriptive a profile the easier that elusive connection will be to find

I personally find it a bit pretentious when people want to share their ‘IQ’ with everyone they meet. However, it is nice to talk to other well educated people who can hold a conversation

Sort of conjures up the image of the folk who worked at Bletchley.

People in lab coats, bad hair and sandals.

Someone whose likely to go into a meltdown if they don't complete the times crossword.

The best ones are the ones who say "we are an attractive, intelligent professional couple and you will be too if you wish to meet us." Some huge egos on here and going by status updates they are missing their attention fix!

How do u define intelligence? Common knowledge ? practical logic? Scientific logic? Can read a book ? Whether it’s Janet & John or mathematical? So many variants ...

I wouldn't describe myself as intelligent, but cunning, with a magpie memory of generally useless trivia which often passes as intelligence.

What are people basing said intelligence on? IQ, or just being able to think processes out for themselves, or being able to retain information that a "smarter" person has come up with?

There many forms of intelligence, I'm apparently a know it all, but very little common sense - type of gut who'd put hand on frying pan to check it hot enough to cook

I think that for many 'demanders of intelligence', they really mean, 'can hold a conversation about a range of topics', rather than a degree in Physics. Natch, I can do both!

Intelligence comes in many forms. I know a head of English at a top London school who can't understand why he got a shock from his cordless kettle after submerging it in the washing up bowel to clean it and then placing it back on its base while it was still wet!

He has all sorts of letters after his name, but not an ounce of common sense in his head!

I have a weakness for intelligence and say so, but I suppose I mean more an intellectual curiosity. Wanting to know or understand more. I find it an attractive quality and important for conversation. It doesn't correlate with educational attainment.

I'm usually a tad suspicious of those using the term Sapiosexual

I find it potentially pretentious?

Now many of use like a person who subjectively to us can hold a balanced conversation

However saying Sapiosexual suddenly suggests they have an extremely high view of their intelligence and are not so conversant with the subjectivity debates regarding "intelligence"

Another thing "Sapiosexual"

Defined as finding intelligence (whatever that is) sexually attractive above other factors

I dont want to be used just for my mind it would be nice to be found attractive too
