Does anyone ever bother to look at and reply to their winks??

Surely it’s just easier to send a message x

near a big hill in s/ shropshire NOT in

I wink at somebody often and then I will send them a message if I get a returned wink ,,, some ways it's better in a message because if you write a long message out and it's ignored at least a wink it's just a wink ,,, imo anyway

We do reply to winks and get replies back. MrD might be busy but browsing and sends out a wink as a quick 'nice profile' thing.

Sometimes sending a meaningful message takes time rather than the generic 'hi how are you' message.

I wink to some folk. I like receiving them too. It's an ice breaker if nothing else. I would try it in a crowded bar so why not on here too?

I send a wink to see if I get a response. If not I won't message the person as they are not interested. Thought that was the idea of the wu k system on here.

I get why women prefer a message when you see how many messages and winks the get bombarded with constantly - you need something to catch your eye and stand out. However, don’t see anything inherently wrong with winks - women and couples use them too. If there’s a wink and mutual attraction then that’s fine. Generic copy and paste messages are no better!

Same. Don’t think I’ve ever looked at who’s winked.

We like winks, quicker to establish if there is an initial attraction. If we wink and don’t get a wink back then we move on as we know they aren’t interested. Same the other way around, if we receive a wink from someone we like then will wink back as a come and say hi

Seems like the most sensible approach.

I do respond with a message if I like the look of them and they’re local. I wink back if they’re too far away, but I like the look of them. I do nothing if I’m not keen.

I don’t send winks as I know they’d be lost in the mountain of winks the profiles I’d go for would get, so it’s pointless.

Good to know - if this were more usual it would save a lot of time (which is so scarce nowadays) wasted on carefully crafted introductions that probably never even get a glance.

I got winked by a woman in California many years ago and that lead to a fine evening of my holiday

On here, I do wink but don’t believe it is as good as sending a message but happy to be proven wrong by sending winks this week
