If it's an emergency, there will be mechanisms for you to see one. If you have an abscess or something, your GP might be able to look by video call and issue antibiotics. |

I broke a tooth last week and lost the filling within. No idea when I will be able to get it sorted. |

My husband is so scared of dentist but he has had major issues lately so he bought the stuff from boots to fill his own tooth in and he removed his own tooth not recommended but it has helped him no end with the painxxx |

I broke my tooth on first day of lockdown. Dentist said they aren’t allowed to drill at the moment so all they would do is put in a temporary filling. I just bought some stuff from Amazon to save him the trouble but it doesn’t hurt yet. |

My dentist emailed all of their patients to say if they'd any problems, to ring the practice, where there would be a dentist to give advice over the phone.
If needed, they can arrange for an NHS dentist to deal with the matter. Dentists are working on a rota in each region. |

I know my dentist are doing emergency appointments only. Fairly confident you'd get emergency treatment if needed. Mine is a private dentist, but I know NHS have a emergency dental line you can call. |

Emergency treatment is hard to get. In a lot of places most dentist have closed leaving one open in the area for emergency dental work.
Anything that can be treated with antibiotics as a temporary fix will be ie abscess.
Broken teeth need to be causing cuts to the inside of you mouth to be treated. |

I need a root canal filling and I'm in agony with it. Called the dentist and they gave me antibiotics to help with the infection. They said all they're allowed to do is remove the tooth and that is the only option for me atm. I'm hanging on in there to se if I can last until this is over. Any ideas to help with the pain will be appreciated |

Leapfrog paracetamol and brufen.
Each have 4 hour cycle, so don't take together.
For instance take brufen at 0800, 1200, 1600 and 2000.
You then take the paracetamol at 1000, 1400, 1800 and 2200 |

Just been in the phone to my dentist as I’ve got toothache, just advised me to gargle with hot salt water before and after eating or as many times a day as I can as that will help settle it hopefully. But to ring back in a few days if it doesn’t. Hope that’s something you could do x |

Spirits, rum, vodka etc will give instant relief often if it sits in the affected area but the antibiotics should kick in within 36hrs and relieve it. |

The hot salt water gargling and rinse will suppress and kill bacteria - hot solution is more effective than colder.
Visit a chemist as they stock numbing gels that also provide shorter term immediate relief. Plus the pain killer rotation posted earlier.
I've never used cloves but they are often suggested too. I'd try a diluted menthol oil gargle too, as it can act as a pain suppressant outside of the mouth - check safety of this! |
