The Queen has no say in who gets an honour.
There is a nomination process.
Fir example, I could nominate my mum for all the voluntary work she has done over the years. Nomination would have to be seconded etc etc, then it goes to a government committee as I understand.
And you enter the honours system at a particular level.
You have to have had a MBE and a CBE before you can receive a knighthood. |

They can’t possibly honour everyone who does their bit. Besides, not everyone will want to be recognised for simply doing their job |

She would need a hell of a big garden for everyone classed as a key worker |

Above their job I think, facing a deadly virus several times a day is the same as going to war |
