So we’ve grown used to pasta and loo roll being a bit scarce.
What’s the most surprising thing you’ve noticed sold out?
I’ve just been for brown sauce and not a single bottle. |

Add ketchup and eggs to the list of things not available for the last three weeks
It’s all about adapting and getting used to it. There’s plenty of other food around, you make meals from what you can get
When those missing things return, you won’t take them for granted |

My Dad sent me forth to get cooking oil and that was scarce. Although plenty of olive oil which he turned his nose up at. Noticed fruit gums are sadly lacking as well.
Plenty of Pasta and toilet roll today in Tesco. |

Due to excessive working hours I've developed an addiction to VR46 Monster energy drinks and no other ones will do.
Last week during my shop in Tesco there were none.
I just started at the empty shelf for 10 mins wondering how the hell I was going to cope... I have one can saved and I might just drink it now lol |

Ive got no cat litter because I have only got a dog and some ferrets. Ive got a spare bottle of veg oil that I would love to trade for 10 minutes of playing with those beautiful tits. Bloody Corona virus. |

"Cat litter has been hard to find too.
Perhaps there's a correlation between that and the lack of toilet roll?
You could be right Bond "
That would be a rarity M, but it's always a possibility |

Only yeast here. Everything else we can source easily, and now we've sourced a massive bag of yeast so we're sorted.
Running out of BBQ coals though so not sure if they're on sale yet, haven't looked |

"Still no flour. Has that been redirected to the big bakeries or something? Or is it just selling out each day?"
Just made bread with some very kinky flour made from some strain of Ancient Egyptian wheat or something. Feels heavier than regular flour but the proof of the tasting will be in the eating..... |

Our local mills took orders for the next 12 months so have stopped taking new orders. There is still flour you just have to look around.
I love a heavy flour, working it is like a workout. I’m using buckwheat today, it was like leather to start with but finally caved in after about 15mins and is now like silk ! |

Its on a final prove now, so wish me luck for when it's finally ready! The shelves in our supermarket was also devoid of most other bread/strong flours, though I did get some pasta flour and we had a decent stash of plain and SR before the panic buying.... |

Do you have a sandwich toaster that seals the edges ? If so we add spare bolognese to this with a slice of cheese... a different type of toastie
Rice works too.... if you have some chilli powder throw it in your bolognese mix to spice it up |

I read that flour is in short supply because Miller's supply mainly the brands like McDonald's, Greggs etc and they can't switch lines easily to produce small bags for us. They have plenty of flour but can't put it in small bags. |

I couldn't get chickpeas or kidney beans in the supermarket last week, went round the corner to the local Polish shop and voila.
Will be going again later in the week to see if they've got flour or eggs.

I found my first eggs this week in a small Tesco I don’t normally use, so not used to lay out. I ended up asking as couldn’t find them and they had them hidden behind the tills.... 6 eggs made my week |

I'm so suprised at people reporting that there are a lack of eggs. I went to Morrisons for the first time in weeks on Friday morning, and you can get 15 eggs in a pack, and you are allowed two units

All depends on timing. I have seen empty shelves, but the supply is good and they are filling up all the time. Demand is through the roof so some people are missing out. |

Agree, certain times everyone goes, avoid and then go back later, some stores are empty of people but full of everything. Get the right time |

Cooking oil took some finding.
I've been doing shopping for people and I found that I can find more of what I want in smaller shops and there is no limit to how many items. No que either. |

I have a Fab friend who works for a supermarket chain and we were discussing this before lockdown.
I (slightly tongue in cheek) said that food manufactures should look at if they have any product left on the shelves and take note because it means those lines are crap.
He told me that that's exactly what's happening and manufacturers are already discontinuing lines based on this massive real time customer feedback.
Lots of stuff will go apparently. |

"Still can’t get pasta
Hopefully they're having a delivery at Tesco in Derby tomorrow, when I went on Friday morning all they had was about 3 boxes of lasagne sheets "
So make lasagna or break the sheets into strips and hey presto! Tagliatelle |

I bought hand sanitiser this week.Souvenir.Also saw tons of loo roll - bought none, as had plenty since last year.
Skimmed milk was out on 2 shops - perhaps people buying to reduce calories as sitting around for 2 weeks. |

Things I tried to get but failed one week ago
Milk
Smoked salmon
Eggs (finally got at butchers)
Bread mix
Washing powder
The washing powder one baffled me as the whole aisle was bare, ended up washing clothes in plain water for a week. |

I know the love of VR46, I found Co-Op to be best place for it! Sainsbury’s never seem to have it, only big Tesco and occasional Asda...
On the surprising front Corned Beef... normally no-one will admit to liking it & now it’s gone, flour, yeast etc I expected but not corned beef... |

Hmm I've never bought it before. Il give it a go. when I can get some. " , you can just boil it till cooked, little bit of salt and pepper and seasoning / a little grated cheese , bit of sauce tomato/brown/barbecue whatever you fancy, and also obviously you could put mincemeat with it, or some mixed cooked vegetables , or you can buy sauces premade in jars ,,,, so many things you can do with it |

I could eat that right now. I was thinking pasta with rice and grated cheese with lots of black pepper and sweet chilli sauce. |

It’s so simple just google easy pasta receipes for ideas but you can basically bulk out any meal with it, even if you just got loads of veg, add a bit of sauce and done. but as said before you definitely don’t do rice and pasta together, it’s one or the other |
