A M8 of mine found an old motor bike in bits in a scrap yard, anyway we are both into classic bikes as winter projects. so he brought it off the dealer cheap and we collected up all the bits ,my M8 found the makers number , and googled it , well it turned out to be an old Harley Davidson , so he gave them a ring to get it's history ,etc , well the guy after awhile phoned him back and told him to look under the seat ,which lifts up from the petrol tank .. so he did ,and found a message enscribed on the vin plate .it read " Happy Birthday James Dean " from Elvis " ..The King '.....

True or False ...?

False. James Dean died in 1955 and Elvis was nowhere near being 'The King' then.

Heard the story many times in different modes of discovery, so wrote the message on the vin plate of half a dozen or so 70's and 80's bikes just to add to the confused urban legend
