I’m reading loads on my kindle just lately. I tend to read mainly on holiday lying by a pool, the rest of the time I don’t seem to have enough time. However time is something we all have at the moment (unless you’re an NHS Hero or other key worker), so what book are you reading and is it any good?
I’m revisiting a few classics, at the moment I’m reading Wuthering Heights which is powerfully brilliant. |

I'm reading the "Hell on earth" series by Ian Robb Wright, I heard the new Stephen King is being brought out early too so that will be next.
I got a three month free trial of kindle unlimited so I've been hitting that quite hard. |

Just started to reread the Necroscope series by Brian Lumley. Brilliant if you like horror and a bit of vampirism. Next will be the Michael Morcock books. Should keep be busy for a while |

I'm finally reading through all the books I've bought intending to read them one day.
Highlight so far was The Testaments, it was brilliantly satisfying and didn't do violence to the Handmaids Tale in any way.
Currently just starting the latest Hilary Mantel. |

I am same, got bought a kindle one year as I read a fair bit. Got through about 5 pages, and just been sat collecting dust - about 5 years ago. |

"Finally got round to Wolf Hall enjoying it so far. "
I finished reading Wolf Hall and Bring Up The Bodies recently. Enjoyed the second one more than the first.
We have a rota system at work at present and I’m off next week for the first time since the lockdown came into place so I’m looking forward to reading loads
I’m trying to do a Magical Readathon someone has done on YouTube based on the O.W.L.S in the Harry Potter books. |

Just finishing "The most beautiful woman in town" by Charles Bukowski. Very good if you like reading about debauched shenanigans on the seamy side of life but with beautifully written prose and sublime insights into the human condition... |

"I have 2 on the go but it's slow reading here.
120 days of sodom and Shantaram.
It's been ages since I read a book...seems like it maybe ages before I finish a book "
Shantaram is one of my favourite books of all time and one I reread each year. Absolutely beautiful and moving. It does take a bit of time to get in to it but it's well worth it once you do. I hope you enjoy it Annabelle. |

Me too. Just not the same reading a Kindle (mine is one of the originals) although I give it a try every now & then. I've been reading plenty of printed books though. |

Hilary Mantel's Wolf Hall trilogy is a reading experience like nothing else, though I personally think book 2 is good but is the weakest of the three bordering on historical romance losing a lot of what made the first book great IMO. Book 3 makes up for it though on a return to form and overall it's a towering achievement and better than most fiction I've read.
Also loved Lucy Ellmann's Ducks, Newburyport which is a mammoth stream-of-consciousness novel from the point of view of a housewife in Ohio lamenting America's current problems as well as her own internal issues. Pun-heavy, clever and very funny. Full of beautiful truth.
Anything by Jeffrey Eugenides, though Middlesex is my favorite of his. |

Started some audiobooks. ‘Mrs Dalloway’ for before bed and ‘At the existentialist cafe’ for when I’m off for a run . I prefer the latter but both fabulous and would recommend |

Earth abides
For a book written the 40s its themes are still spot on today.
Given the backdrop is set against a plauge its even more relevant.
There are some good radio plays that are free to listen to if that's more your thing |
