So I've been living in South East London for a year and a half and will likely move to a new apartment come spring.
While I'm not picky about where I live around London, do people here have strong opinions on the best area to live in terms of proximity to central, social events and clubs, affordability, etc.? |

I'm in the same situation. I'm moving to London from the South East later this year.
East London, Wanstead, South Wood ect...
Fairly affordable and nice areas.
Far enough outside Central London to be reasonably affordable but only 16 minutes on the tube to Bank. |

That’s some good intel there! Thanks. 16 minutes to Bank (where I work anyway) beats my current commute. |

West London is really nice but it comes with a price tag. East is a lot cheaper but quality is equal to the price.
North gives you a good balance between the two and most areas have amazing transport.
South has great places but as you will see from a map transport is appalling. The lack of a tube station will take you a little away from the London buzzy lifestyle.
If you don't have anyone in terms of a local community, then while creating one you will want the ease of transport options. That's what I would say. |
