London Shoreditch social with a difference - pub social, no area booked, no guest list, who wants to come comes.
Let’s share a few drinks and get to know each other.
In order to recognise fellow fabsters in the crowd I suggest we wear a pin (safety pin, decorative pin, ten pin bowling pin if you wish...any kind of pin) on the right hand side of our chest.
The bravest will wear a pin meaning they’re happy to chat with fellow fabsters.
Others may come in stealth mode (no pin) just to see if there is somebody they fancy chatting with.
Date: Thursday 7 Feb / 17:30 onward
Location: large modern pub, multiple rooms, in Shoreditch (3 min walk from Liverpool Street station) -Address will be posted on the day.

Cool, watch the thread for the address.
There hasn’t been a lot of interest here but I had quite an increase of profile views by Londoners so I suspect most people turning up will be in stealth mode. That’s cool, I’ll be wearing a pin so make yourselves known if you fancy a chat. |

"Think your struggling to find single women
Great idea but a bit daunting fir a single girl walking in pub on her own "
I don’t quite see it like that but who knows. We’ll see on the day. They can always come in stealth mode. |

A few clarifications. This social is different from anyone I attended in the sense that I don’t keep a guest list: whoever fancies it can join in.
Ultimately it’s only a night in a pub where you can expect to have other fabsters lurking around hence the pin (right side of the chest) to recognise each other and act as an ice breaker.
I do not expect all fabsters present to pow wow around a single table nor do I expect to be the center of attention (feel free to say hello though - I’m curious to know how many people will turn up). Engage with who you want as you want, or don’t. It’s your call.
I was also told that for some single women a pub on your own may be a daunting idea. I’m a bloke and haven’t considered it but I understand. If that’s your case feel free to get in touch. As organiser I’m happy to be the familiar face in the crowd. I hear the cynics already: this is not a ploy, I’m just trying to facilitate.
I will actually be going with friends myself (a MF couple) because like most if this is a flop I don’t want to spend the night on my own in a pub.
I haven’t found my pin yet, so it’s likely just to be a safety pin.
Questions, suggestions welcome.
Roll on Thursday and let’s have some fun. |

Real curve, you’re call. Personally no later than 18:30. Quite a bit of work.
Londoner, mine will be a basic safety pin. A if only you knew what pin(e) is slang for in French... |

"Thanks to all that turned up.
I was happily surprised by the men to women ratio. Never at any point in the evening was there more men than women."
Sounds like a good night, mate. Would love to join you all at the next one... |

"For the next one I’m thinking about a Xmas jumper theme and organise it around Easter. Watch the thread"
It was a shame I couldn't make it! Hopefully next one I can. Like the idea of Xmas jumpers for easter or maybe everyone wears same colour clothing like pink shirt or something? More discreet that way wouldn't you say? Haha |
